Emergency brake cable is broke. Foot pedal stuck in lock position. How can i release the pedel to normal position?

You should be able to see the lever that the cable pulls on to release the e-brake. You may have to remove a trim panel or two to see up in there. Use a screwdriver to pull that lever forward. Keep your face away from the pedal (dont ask how I know this.....).

In the video below you can see the lever that the cable attaches to at around 1:15 into the video. I know its not the same vehicle but the concept is the same.

I have locked my ignition pushed a little lever and a cover is preventing me from putting key in ignition don't know how to release it

Look up owner manual for your car on google if you dont have one. If there is a lock lever at the ignition then the manual will instruct you how to release it.

Hi, just a question to see if I could tighten my emergency brake on my car so it will pass inspection. Currently, when i pull my ebrake it pulls all the way up instead of 1/2-3/4 of the way. I just dont...

Hello msn19000: My name is Roger and I will help. The adjustment is something you can do yourself. Look at the park brake lever and locate the adjusting nut on the left side of the lever. tighten a turn or two. Just enough to allow the lever to move six or seven clicks. Make sure the brakes do not stay aplied when you release the brake lever. THis should enable your car to pass the state inspection. How ever if you can not achive a brake that holds the car. You may need to adjust or replace the reat brakes. This would require some one with experience to replace the brake shoes. See the attached picture of brake lever to locate the adjusting nut.
Should you need further help please just ask. Please rate the answer. This way I know it was helpful. Thank You for using Fix Ya. Roger071ddd1.jpg

Dont know how to open the bonnet on Peugeot 104

The lever to open the bonnet is not on driver side but on passenger side (depends on the model). From passernger side open the door and then look on the side-wall (where the door ends and foot-wall starts) underneath the dashboard/glove-box for a lever to open the bonnet.

Handbrake adjustment 1955 X Type Jaguar

There really should not be any adjustment necessary, the parking brake is self adjusting. When you first install new pads It may take several puls of the lever to get them set up.

The cables MUST be absolutely free moving, for the system to work.

The adjustment as pads wear is inside the caliper itself and it is automatic, there is a little lever on the caliper and it moves the pads ahead every time it is pulled. This lever can become sticky and not return after it is pulled. you can free it up by removing the lever and then removing the rubber dust sheild behind it. Then you clean and lubricate it.
When all is moving freely, the arm should spring back against a hard stop each time the cable is pulled.

There is an adjustment on the cables under the car, just behind the centre console. It normally does not need adjusting unless you replace the cables themselves.
To check the adjustment, you need to make sure that the little levers on the rear calipers are fully returned to their rest position, and make sure the handle inside the car is down. Then adjust the nut to take up the slack in the cables.

I dont think that they can screw up the calipers inside. I have had them apart and there is really nothing to bust. I suspect very strongly that the levers on each caliper are not moving freely.

Most places dont understand all this, even the dealers, so they sell you new cables and calipers. I know for a fact that you can make it all work if you get everything moving freely.

Red light keeps coming up, there is a question mark and a (p) in the light but i dont know what it means. and i need to find a manual cuz the car did not come with one. pls help. thank you. sarah

Might be your parking brake lever is not fully down....try pulling up ur parking brake lever all the way out and then push it back fully and see.....if the problem still persists, it might be a faulty wiring connection which can be set right within few minutes

The key wont come out of the ignition??

I dont know how to permanently fix it, but I know if you take it out of park then put it back it it's usually ok. I have my SRX in repair today having the recall done for the auto shift lever. Hopefully, this will fix the problem but I dont know if they're related....
