I have the same leak on my 2003 suburban I just got. It only leaks after I turn it off or start it. After sitting under my engine for 3 hours in the cold. I saw the leak coming fromt the water pump. Looks like the shaft seal and it is weeping out the vent hole. I am checking prices for water pump now. My leak was the passenge side on the front that collected on the 4WD electronic cables.

Check to see exactly where it's coming from? My guess if it's coming from the front of the engine is that the water pump is going out on you. Fix that before it goes out on you totally and you are replacing an engine as well as a water pump. You might check for sure to see if it isn't coming from a radiator hose as well. Easier to fix.

Check your hoses for poor condition and loose clamps. Check the gasket around your water pump as well.

On the 07 silverado smell comeing through the heat vent

If you're going through 1/2 gallon every few weeks - you've got a leak. Since you smell it from the heater vents - it may very well be the heater core ($$$) that is leaking. Usually, you'll notice that the windows will fog up heavily as the coolant is very hot / steamy once the engine has warmed up fully.

Look for coolant puddles under the truck to get an idea as to where it is leaking from. If closer to the front bumper - it's probably not the heater core - if closer to the firewall - it could be the heater core.

Most likely a frost plug, you may need a mirror to see it.
The head is not likely to just leak from the back, check for steam from the exhaust when hot.

My 1989 350 suburban show the oil pressure maxed above 60 on the gauge. this occurred at the same time as a leak occurred in the intake manifold releasing a small amount of water into the oil. I have...

sometimes you can get a little water trapped. you can try removing the sending unit and cleaning it. you will probably have to replace the unit. the pressure is acceptable though as long as youre not pourong oil out through the seals.

My engine keeps overheating and cooling back down every few minutes..also my air vents don't blow hot air

If you added three gallons of coolant you must have a leak somewhere. Those motors were notorious for intake gasket leaks. Take a good look at the corners of the intake where it meets the cylinder head. Check the oil and make sure it's not milky. Usually when the intake gasket goes it seems to leak externally but it's possible it could leak into the engine and end up in the oil pan which will prove to be disastrous if you continue to run the motor with that oil in it.

probably have a vacuum leak where the Upper Ram of the Intake manifold meet the Lower Intake Manifold. Listen for a vacuum leak (hissing sound) near that point, We used to spray a small amount of Carb cleaner near the joint of the 2 Manifolds & observe for a change in the Engine speed, to verify the vacuum leak.

Coolant Leak

Well this is going to be like finding a needle in a haystack! You can get a test done where they put a flourescent ink in your coolant, run the engine and then go over your engine with a black light. With a leak this small, that might be your best bet!
