Check the temperature control actuator. If the noise is a clicking sound it is the actuator.

Ford windstar 2001 is not blowing out heat. it makes a noise when the temperature bar is moved from side to side,

If the blower motor runs, I believe you have a broken linkage or hopefully it just came loose on your contol. Doesn't run: check fuse then relay then motor...

The front heat selector for my 2003 windstar does not work, it is loose and all I get is cold air, the rear heating works fine.

I have a similar problem with my 2000 Windstar. Mine makes a clicking noise/thumping noise when I move the temp. control. I was told it is the "Blend Door Acutator" which makes sense. The little actuator must have a stripped gear, and is not working as it should. I am in the process of removing mine to get at the "blend door" to try to set it to the heat side for now. It is not above the radio as someone had suggested, mine is located in back of the radio.

NO heat in front of 2001 windstar van. Thumping

Blend air door may be stuck. I removed a pencil from a heater box before. It had fallen from the dash, down through the defrost vents and jamed the door.

1999 ford windstar heater lever will not turn on front heat

Check on the heater control valve. It is probably close to the firewall behind the engine. There will be coolant lines attached to it. This valve should have an arm on it that opens and closes a valve inside, either shutting off or allowing hot coolant to flow into the heater core. The arm should be attached to a cable coming from inside the car. See if the arm moves when you move the heat temperature level inside the car.

Air flow system makes a clicking noise when the top lever is moved to the left or right. Winter is coming and I need warm air to the front window.

one of the actuators is bad, or the door that the actuator is trying to move is stuck, a shop will need to ck it out for you and recommend what needs to be done.

Heater vent control works sometimes and sometimes it does not

OH ! The doors on the Windstar are plastic and brake, it is run by vacuum. You can look under the dash and see it the levers are moving if the are then the inside door is probably broken. This is a long job as most of the dash MUST be removed to replace the plastic door.

Heating problem in a 1999 ford windstar

This noise is the blend door electric stepper motor, this motor controls the door inside the heating ducts that diverts air across the heater core to heat the van, either the bleen door is warped from heat and stuck, or the blend door motor is defective, in order to fix this the dash assembly must be pulled to gain access to the motor and the door.
