Hard Start When Cold 01 Bucik Regal

Did you check the fuel pump relay ?
You would need to use a fuel pressure gauge and check pressure before you crank the engine.
When you turn the key switch on, the pump relay is supposed to provide power for 3 seconds to boost fuel pressure.
If fuel pressure is ok, the coolant temp sensor could be telling the computer the engine is warmer than it really is.

This a 5.8 L warm or cold engine will not start with out starting fluid engine then fires right up and runs perfect it cranks and seem likes there is no fuel

It seems like the lead from the ignition switch to the fuel pump relay is open. Try this--turn the key to on for several seconds, then turn to start. Let me know if that works, and I can try to trace the open wire on a diagram. Other possibility is anti-theft system malfunction.

Starts hard when cold

Faulty idle control system/sensor, or intake gaskets leaking. If you've been using starting fluid on it, that would be why. Don't ever use starting fluid on a gas engine. If you're lucky enough to not blow your own head off, you aren't going to be lucky enough to cause extreme engine damage. ie: blown intake gaskets, bent valves etc.

98 Escort Hard starting when hot

sounds like a dodgy mis reading of a sensor caused by electrical resistance which is turning choke on and flooding engine.know the fault but without car in front of me its difficult to diagnose, could be auto choke sensor which is on right hand side of cylinder head ,but not sure.best is probally dealer have you tried spark plug gaps ??25th although this would cause problems with cold starting not hot starting but its worth a look
