The 2007 Lincoln MKX is definitely towable "4 down". According to the owners manual: The ignition switch needs to be in the accessory position (position 2 of the 4 possible positions) so that the steering wheel is able to turn to let the front wheels track the towing vehicle. The transmission needs to be in "N" so that the engine's disconnected. The parking brake needs to be off, and the engine should be run for 5 minutes before starting out and "at fuel stops". This makes the vehicle a good vehicle to tow along with you behind your motorhome. The folks at Blue Ox make an excellent tow "baseplate" that is practically invisible yet hooks up easily to the motorhome. The BX2192 package is made specifically for the '07 to '10 MKX. It works beautifully with my '07!

    I notice below that someone opines that if this were his car, he wouldn't risk hurting the transmission. I've towed this car at least 20K of it's 120K miles and it's in perfect shape. As I'm sure we all would presume, the manufacturer won't say it's towable 4 down in the manual unless that's safe and doesn't harm the vehicle.

Are you towing it 2 city blocks or accross the country? If it were MY car I wouldn't take the chance on towing it flat. use a trailer or have it put on a flat bed tow truck. the price of a tow truck will be less than a transmission rebuild.

WHY DOES LINCOLN MKX MAKES ROARING SOUND BETWEEN 40-75 MPH

Things to check (in order of likelihood):
  1. Fluid level and condition in rear differential;
  2. Drive shaft center bearing;
  3. Rear outer bearings;
  4. Front bearings (have they been packed with grease in the past three years?);
  5. U-Joints
  6. Tires (separating tread, flat spots, etc.)

Lincoln mkx chugging and no power

You can tow your MKX behind your motor home. I've been doing it for years. Your owners manual tells you how to do it. You must tow it by all wheels up or all wheels down. You can not use a tow dolly. Make certain that you get a good tow bar system and have it installed. It took them a day to install mine. But I feel safe towing it.
Have fun RVing.

Where to buy new updated navigation cd for 2007 mkx

You can get Lincoln navigation discs from the following site:
http://www.audiovideo2go.com/mkx-2007-2008/

ANY of the discs on that page will work for you. The disc that originally came with your MKX is the "2007 release" so anything with a newer year will act as an update to your MKX navigation system.

Hope that helps!

How often should transmission fluid and filter be changed in 2007 Lincoln MKX

Your owners manual has a schedule of maintenance in it.
Personally I would change trans fluid/filter at 50K unless you tow or qualify as severe service user. Check fluid monthly. Pay attention for leaks. Fluid should not be cloudy in color. Water will make fluid cloudy.
