After the key has been off for 10 seconds......turn key to run position while someone is at gas tank area listening for a 1 to 2 second "whirrrrr".

No "whirrrrr" ....you most likely need a fuel pump replacement.
It's in the gas tank.

Check fuel pump fuse first.....and make sure the fuel pump relay "clicks" during the same test described above before starting to change the pump.
Also......check for power to the pump (gray wire) just before you remove it.
Check the ground wire too.
If there is power at the pump and still no "whirrrrr" during the above test at the gray wire......you DO need a pump.

Changing the pump is easy.
Remove the bolts on the drivers side holding the box to the frame.
Loosen the bolts on the box on the pass side holding the box to the frame.
Remove the screws holding the gas filler neck to the box.
Lift the box ......tilting it up on the drivers side just enough to get the pump out of the tank.
MAKE SURE THE BOX IS SAFELY SUPPORTED.

Check for 12 volts at the fuel pump, fuel pump relay, and or fuses. if you have 12 volts at the fuel pump but no fuel flow could be bad pump or severly clogged fuel filter...

SOURCE: I installed new fuel pump and truck will idel for about 15 second

check to see if the injectors are working, what engine do you have? and what kind of fuel pressure are you getting? check fuses for the injector circuit, if your fuel pump is working and you know your spark is good, the next thing to check would be the injector system

SOURCE: truck wont start unless i pour some fuel in

sounds like the fuel pump or filter needs replaced. pull out line off filter underneath and turn key. if fuel comes out slow try replacing filter and trying again. if pressure is still low fuelpump is bad or a blown fuse or bad relay.

Start and quit running I can spray gas in the throotle bottle and it will say running while I am spray it

Must be your fuel pump has quit working. There should be fuel under pressure in the line to the throttle body, just by turning the key to on, not start. Not real high pressure like in multiport injected engines. Throttle body injection runs on about 20psi. If no pressure in your lines, find out why the pump is not working.

Dont clean your throttle body yet..........Theres an idle air control valve{ black round top about the size of a 50cent piece} on the back of the throttle body, cleaners will ruin it. It mounts with 2 screws facing the back of the motor. This is what controls your idle.........

Audi100 2.3litre keeps shutting off at the intersections, or at stop signs, i recently had to change the fuel pump....help pls

There are many possible causes of an engine stallng, however, The most likely cause of the symptoms you are describing would be a defective Idle Air Control Solenoid. (IAC).
It is located on the intake plenum near the throttle body and it looks like the picture below.

1996 dodge dakota 3.9 engine quit running when we do the ignition test it gives us a code of 1255 what would that mean. It will run if we put gas down the carb.

i`m not sure what the code meaning is but if you put gas down the throttle body and it runs then you have a fuel problem which this code may refer to.this year of truck is fuel injected throttle body.it could be a fuse, fuel pump relay, fuel pump, plugged fuel filter, stuck open fuel pressure regulator not building enough pressure, wiring for fuel or pump system or even a computer(ecm) problem.

Car starts runs for ten or fifteen minutes then just dies

Check fuel pressure when it dies? Or remove air intake hose at throttle body inlet, open throttle slightly,(with key off) and spray wd-40 inside throttle body for a second or 2, then try to start. If it starts for a second or 2 then quits, you have a fuel delivery problem, such as bad fuel pump or plugged fuel filter.

Car is not ideling right, not sure if catalistic converter might be plugged

There's quite a few things that could cause that , but when was your last tune-up comes to mind first, as well as consider a can of throttle body cleaner and spray in and all around intake of throttle body for starters. If you get the chance, stop at parts store for free trouble code scan as well, which may point you in the right direction also.

1995 Ford F-250 replaced fuel filter and alternator, but the truck runs for a few miles then it stalls...or acts like it is out of fuel. it will not start until it has been setting for awhile

Sounds like fuel pump could be on it's way out. Obviously you don't have access to a fuel pressure tester for when it's a no start situation, so maybe try this. Grab a can of WD-40 & a screwdriver/nut driver, that will allow you to take intake hose off at throttle body inlet. Next time it quits, remove air intake hose, open throttle plate & spray WD-40 for a couple of seconds into throttle body. Try to start, if it does, for a second or 2, replace fuel pump. I believe what's happening is once the pump gets warm/hot, is quitting, then sitting, it cools down & pumps up to pressure again. This will confirm.
