SOURCE: Is a 1997 Dodge Intrepid 3.5 a high out put motor?

It ain't a viper , but it has quite a good amount of power.
Pulls a intrepid good if you step on it.
Have been told that the 3.5 is a bit sketchy , may throw a rod out the side of the block more often than the 3.3

SOURCE: the stater for dodge intrepid.

Hello. Go to any auto parts store and have them crossreference these two model years for you. That is your safest and best information. I prefer the NAPA stores if you have one near by.

Did you check out the basics? Does the starter motor spin and kick out the drive gear? Did you check the flywheel teeth? Did the old starter motor use shims?

all the parts from the 04 has to go on the 99 motor. will not run right and engine lights on dash will be on. make sure that the bell housing bolts are the same between motors. engineers like to change things.

Can a 1999 dodge intrepid 2.7 liter motor fit in a 2002 dodge intepid that also contained a 2.7 liter motor are they compatible

look at the cars vin# on the door panel. the 99 model it will tell you what month and year the car was made such as 06/1999 if the 1999 model was made from 06/99 not before but 06/99 and above the engines will fit. also check the bolt patterns on the transmissions and starter location on each motor to see if in the same locations. if all match, they will interchange. thank you for choosing fixya.com

I cant locate the fuse for my fan to cool the engine in my 1997 chrysler concorde

Look for the Fan Relay on the engine compartment fuse box, I think is on the Driver's side by the fenderwell. To test it, swap it with the AC Relay or another one with same relay number. The Fan should come on when the niddle is about the middle OR if you turn the AC on, the fan should start inmediately.

I have an 99 Intrepid and I had to replace the fan motor last year, the motor's bearings got dry and it was a little hard to turn. With engine OFF, turn the fan by hand and see if it keep turning, if it does not turn at least once, replace motor.

Good Luck!! Don't forget to rate this post!!

2004 Dodge Intrepid 2.7 engine, and oil light keeps coming on.

Major issues with the 2.7L motor. design flaw causes oil to hang in the heads and "cook" creating sludge. Sludge builds until the passage to the timing chain is blocked starving the chain and causing near instant failure...this is a "rattling" or Roulette wheel sound. The 2.7L is an "interference" type engine. When the chain breaks or jumps, the cams stop in position thus leaving the valves wherever they may land. The pistons keep on moving though....and kiss whatever valves happen to be open. Bye Bye Motor. Using Synthetic oil EARLY and exclusively cures the sludge issue. Replacing the timing chain and components at interval is crucial...don't wait for it to break or jump!
