Question about 2005 Pontiac Bonneville

04 Bonneville, GXP. Blower Motor not Function Properly

I know when car is cold the fan motor will not turn on until engine is warmed up. If defrost is on fan motor will operate weather engine is cold or hot. My problem....Fan motor runs but sometimes takes10-15 min before it will blow at high speed. It's like a temperature sensor finally turns on and opens the circuit to turn on Fan Motor. Possible pattern....Sometimes if I run fan in manual mode fan works OK but if I run fun in auto temp mode it hardly ever functions properly. Then some days it works like it's supposed to! No consist pattern yet. It's starting to get cold outside and was wanting to get handle on problem before winter gets here.

Sounds like the sensor is becoming questionable or a hi resistance ground in this part of the blower sensor circuit

I have a 98 bonneville se. the blower fan only comes on when the knob is all the way up and it ONLY blows heat and absolutely no cold also the air only blows out the defroster and the floor

How did you test the A/C system ? Hook up gauge manifold , test A/C pressures ? Manual or automatic climate control ? The blower motor only working on high means the blower motor resistor is bad ! Did you hook up a scan tool an check high an low pressure switchs inputs to the PCM - engine computer . Does the A/C compressor clutch engage ? turning on the compressor ? Moving the mode switch does nothing . Doesn't move from floor to vent to defrost ? Probably the mode door actuator ! Don't think the HVAC control panel is bad . Just a few little things . Pushing the A/C button on the control panel just send a electrical signal to the PCM , the PCM will energize the A/C clutch relay , turning on the compressor .

Where is the heater blower resister located on a 2004 bonneville gxp

Why ? Does the blower work on high ? but no other speeds ! If it doesn't come on at any speed it's not the resistor . Does the vehicle have automatic climate control or manual ? Automatic doesn't have resistor , has a blower motor control processor . HVAC Blower Motor Circuit You need to test , not guess !

Need to replace heater motor

Pretty typical for our generation of Bonneville (mine's a 2005 GXP). There are at least two different fans for our generation of Bonneville.
Remove the panel under the passenger side dash; I recall two small screws.
There may be a couple wires to unplug from this panel.
The blower motor is located right above the passenger toes.
Unplug the three wire plug.
Remove a small rubber hose. It has one right angle bend. It's about the size and length of a big thumb.
Remove 3 small screws on the fan, and the fan comes out.
Here's my new one: zeevert_33.jpg The Hole under the passenger dash. Insert blower here: zeevert_34.jpg

Good Luck...

Blower stopped working on my 2003 bonneville could it be a fuse and if so where is the fuse box

It could be a fuse. Fuses under the back seat.
Chances are that it's the blower itself. Pretty typical for our generation of Bonneville. I have a 2005 GXP and replaced the blower at about 75,000 miles. I can't remember the car before that I had to replace a blower... maybe 20 years ago?

Anyway, the blower is under the passenger dash.

I have a 05 bonny gxp and am wondering where my blower motor is located at?

I have a 2005 Bonny GXP and have replaced the blower motor.
It is located under the dash, passenger side, just above the passenger toes.
It's easy to replace, and the cost of the blower has come down a lot!
I did a write-up with pictures at: http://www.gmforum.com/showthread.php?t=277509
You may have to register (for free).

Basically, remove the kick panel under the dash. Unplug the blower. Remove the vent hose. remove the three screws holding the fan, and it will drop out.zeevert.jpgzeevert_0.jpg
