Question about 2004 Chrysler PT Cruiser
Replaced battery. Now PT cruiser wont turn over. I crossed the starter and engine turned over but won't run. red light in gage cluster on. I'm thinking its a factory anti-theft. I didn't get any key pads when I bought the car. Looking for a procedure to reset it w/out the key pad.

Hi I am Vortash the first thing you should check is the fluid level ( water ) in the radiator bottle .. and the oil to see if there is any water in it if you have a heat problem the head gasket can leak allowing water to mix with the oil .. this causes the oil to turn creamy white and reduces it's protection to the engine .
The best thing for you to do is have the vehicle checked over now as if the head cooks you could be looking at a couple of thousand dollars for repair in this country The UK it would cost about a thousand pounds to have a head skimmed and the gaskets replaced due to overheating and at todays currency exchange thats a lot of dollars ..Have a compression test done on the cylinders this will tell you if you have a gasket problem , The readings per cylinder should be between 130 to 150 per cylinder any lower and you have a problem .. regards Vortash
