SOURCE: doesn't start

To put it simply it's either spark, fuel or compression. If the timing belt is okay (not broken or timing marks don't line up) and you have spark, you need to make sure you have clean gas and not water (from condensation) or air being sprayed out the injector nozzles. Try using quick start spray or even pouring some gas down the trottle body and see if it starts. If it does then check the relays, pump and lines. I've seen pin hole leaks in lines that caused symptoms similar to vapour lock. Check the
Main EFI relay (it's under the dash near the brake pedal) they usually stop working when the car is parked in the hot sun. Sometimes leaving the doors open, or pushing the car into the shade so it can cool down, will get the car to start again. I would get a distributor and a Main EFI relay from a junkyard. Because it's too expensive just swapping in new parts, and it's always a good idea to keep a spare distributor around as they are known to go bad on old Integra's.

SOURCE: My '92 Integra cranks but does not start

i have this problem on a regular basis with my 91.

it happens in hot weather, and sometimes after having to start and stop the car several times quickly(like going ot different stores over and over) again, in warmer weather, like 25 C+.

my problem though.

i start the car, it turns over and within the second it started it revs back down and cuts out.

then, when i put the keys back in, and to the second position just before cranking, my lights are on, and i get the s3 blinking, (which indicates a transmission malfunction, DO NOT START YOUR CAR OR DRIVE IT WHEN THIS LIGHT BLINKS, this is a transmission problem, but it is electronic, and runs your tranny really hard)

i would take the keys out, go read the paper for a few minutes or something, come back, put the keys in, and as long as that s3 light isnt blinking, the car starts fine.

the issue relating to gas would make sense, because if the engine doesnt get enough fuel it, well, shuts off. i have had injector issues before,(while applying gas nothing happens for a second) so i started using fuel injector cleaner every 4th or so fill-up.i have seen some better results, in driving as well.

try this, along with hitting your gas tank. BUT, hit your tank at your discretion, you dont want to accidentally cause damage, like maybe shake some electronics loose, which would cause even more problems

Suspect you have a loose clamp on a radiator hose or the oil change guy made something leak. There is a tool which is similar to a a bicycle pump in that it pressurizes the water system and your engine does not have to run or be hot to test. Some major auto parts stores may have a loaner.

Its going to stay hot and lose pressure until you fix the leak.

Car ran and stalled, and now it won't start back up again

if the car starts then shuts off check for a security light flashing or staying on in the dash. if this is happening then you need to service the passlock system not the fuel pump. generally it is the ignition cylinder and will need reprogramming once it is changed. Not sure where you are but dealer is very expensive and our shop repairs about 30-50 of these problems per month.

No oil but no warning night came on

check to make sure your oil cap is on and make sure your oil filter is on. let it sit in a driveway or parking spot put oil in it and let it run for a while look underneath to see if there are oil spills, then contact your local mechanic.

Car lights and everything goes on, but the car will not start

turn key from off to the on postiton. does the security light blink?
if so leave in on postition until light stops blinking (10min) then try to start car. may have to repeat process up to three times.
if the security re-learn process works, you will need a new ignition cylinder with security sensor. if not local gm dealer can tell you for sure.

Steam came in from vents and high pitch whistle

start the enginemake sure the radiator is full with the cap oon tightly and open the hood and let the car idle in the driveway untl it starts to team, this way you can locate where the steam is actually coming from.
when it is overheating is there white smoke coming out of the tail pipe?
if there is this is a good sign thatyou have a blown ead gasket.
the other thing that couldbe causing this over heating is a plugged catalytic converte.
to rule out whether it is the themostat sticking or not. remove the thermostat from the car put it in a pot of boiling water on the kitchen stove and see if it opens or not. the boiling water will make the thermostat open if it is working properley. Be sure to pay attention as to which way the thermostat is pointing when you remove it so when you put it or a new one back in that it is facing the correct direction. if it is not facing the rite direction it will not open and cause the car to over heat.
