A good place to get wiring schematics for your vehicle is at the Auto Zone web site. It is free to use, the only thing you have to do is register.
Good luck.

Do you need a new motor

How would someone know that?

You need a wiring diagram or at least
match up the cut wires, solder & heat shrink them

Then diagnose the motor,switches,etc

I buy factory wiring diagrams for all my vehicles
I never approach the vehicle without them
One quick check of what does work, then into
the wiring manual

You can not repair something you know nothing about,
need reference material

Helm.Com ---for manuals & lots of money

Spedo and tack not working trans shifting hard

Thanks for choosing FixYa and welcome to the site. You need to check your cluster fuse first for the dash elements. If it is not the fuse, it may be a bad wire or connection. As for the transmission, check your fluid. It may need changed, along with the filter also. If you have a check engine light on, get the computer scanned for error codes. Make sure there are no leaks at the transmission. You may need to have it looked at. Can't really know what is wrong with the transmission without looking at it in person.

On my 1997 dodge grand caravan, sometimes the dash lights go our and all the gauges, speedometer, gas gauge, go out but at the same time the abs light is on, if the abs light stays off all the gauges work,...

Yes it is a loose wire or plug. Next time it happens try hitting/smacking the top of the dash, or the steering column, ect. to try at least to located where the problem might be. This works sometimes. Electrical issues can be a nightmare. There is no quick and easy fix. I do alot of electrical and it can take 15 minutes (if your lucky) a whole day if your not. Most jobs I do take an average of 4 to 5 hours.

All the light are out on my dash. the speed ometer, tack, gas, temp, ect. I was told that it is an eletrical problem by car deal service manager?

That could be. Just make sure the instrument panel light dimmer that isn't turned way down. If it's not that it could be a fuse, switch, wiring, bulbs, etc.

My dashboard it out on my 1997 grand carivan

The dash cluster is probably bad. Replace the assembly & you should be fine. Get the tranny checked. It sounds like you got a bad one.

HELP! Problems on my 1997 Grand Caravan P1698, P0138, P0140

you need to go over your entire wiring harness, under the hood and inside the dash. Start with the ground wire on the battery and work your way inside. It sounds like there is a loose ground wire somewhere
