WHERE IS THE AIR FLOW METER ON A KIA RIO 1.5 2001 IS IT EASY TO GET TO ? CAN IT BE REPLACED EASILY OR IS IT A GARAGE FIX ?

It should be located beneath the air box that contains the air filter, just above the throttle. You'll need to remove the air box. There's 2 12 mm bolts you can see at the front of the box, and 2 behind it that you'll need a wrench to get off. Then loosen the clamp around the throttle body with a 10mm socket and ratchet. Remove the duct from the air box. Disconnect the air flow meter connector by pressing the metal wire style connector lock toward the connector and pulling it free. Remove the box with the meter and turn it over, you'll see that it bolts onto the underside of the box with 2 bolts.

mass air flow meter or sensor is in the air intake pipe between the air filter and the inlet manifold ,more often than not they are in the air filter box on the outlet

2004 Kia rio. starts when petrol is placed in the air filter but when runs out engine stalls. Replaced fuel pump, but makes no difference. Any other ideas? Stumped....


Did you change the gas line filter ?
Are you sure theres power to new fuel pump ?
Does the fuel pump make a small humming noise when you turn the key to the start possition ?
Is the fuel pressure regulator working ?
