Hi, this could be one of a few things the first could be sezied piston on the back brake on that side if this is the case then this would need replacing their is no way of knowing exactly what it is without removing parts and loonking for damage.

The best option would be to temove the wheel and then remove the brake drum if its drum brakes on the back and the check that the piston isnt leaking fluid as this could cause the problem your having.

If its disk brakes on the back then the chances are that the caliper sliders are seized these can be freed up but it would involve removing the calipper pushing the piston back in with a clamp then where the caliper is botled on it runs along slides these will need cleaning up and any rust removing the grease with copper grease only grease the sliders make sure you dont get any on the disk itrself as the brake wont work.

Let me know how you get on or if you need further assistance ok.

It might also be worth checking that the hand brake is working fine on both sides as a problem with this cojuld cause the problem your having also let me know ok

How do I bleed the brakes on a 2009 Pontiac G6?

when replacing the brakes you usually dont bleed the system ---usually bleed system when air gets in from like changing a line master cylinder or caliper-- and or master is empty .but to bleed you start at passenger rear first than drivers side rear,up to passenger side front ending at drivers side front

My 95 blazer feels like something is not releasing or something is "dragging" in rear end

The greasy one has a seal leaking between the backing plate and the brakes (axle seal) which in turn will cause your brakes to grab on that wheel when you apply the brakes. Remove the axle and replace the seal. Then thoroughly clean the brake shoes and backing plate until they appear bone-dry like the other side. This should solve your problem. Make sure the rear-end grease level is full when you finish.

Front brake pads wear down too quick

Get the brake calipers checked, the slides are probably seized/sticking causing drag.Check the rear hubcap for stones/debris/looseness.There is also a brake snow/debris guard which tends to rust.

Abs problems. my passenger side wheel is smoking. just put new brake pads and caliper on that side. what could cause this?

Look into the brake hose on that side .How old is it? Sometimes they collapse on the inside and the result is brake drag.

CRV has knocking sound coming from rear passenger side

inspect the braking system for warped or uneven rotor surface, as this may cause this noise and uneven pad wear. CV joints also could cause this if the boots are torn, have insufficient grease, are damaged,or have worn bearings. Hopefully this helps

Persistent rear brake grabbing and over heating

As for the rear brake check to see if the emergence brake cable is free or binding, not releacing the brake calaper.
The engine rpm is not directly related to the brake other than the engine is trying harder to overcome the drag from the brake.
The passenger window is an obvious electrical short in the wireing harness at the door jam that is closed at a certain position of the door. Open the door and hold the switch on at the same time you move each wire individually in the harness. When you move the correct wire the window will move, hopefully.
As for the battery light, it could be any number of things. It is best to have it connected to a diagnostic tester to determine just what it is rather than chasing your tail.

96 Cavalier passenger rear brake lock up when wet or cold

Bad PROPORTION VALVE ... the back brakes should only be doing 30% of the stopping with a bad proportion valve it will send more pressure to the back during braking and cause it to lock up. Good Luck and thanks for using FIX YA

Rear anti lock brake light & brake light on in 1991 ford 350e m/h

If the brake light and alb lights are on u need to get it checked out, as this is a warning of a brake problem, and u could find yourself w/out brakes.
1st check the easy things, is tire pressure what it should be in the rear tires? Low pressure on one side would result in the tire running hotter than the other properly inflated side. Is the emergency brake completely off? If on even slightly, it can turn on the brake light. Is brake fluid at the proper level? If low, the brake light will go on. If it's low, u must check for leaks to see why it's low. The abs light on indicates a problem w/ the system, it could be as simple as a broken wire at the rear wheels. u may also have a brake dragging on the rear pass. side, causing the brakes to overheat, which could result in heat transfer to the wheel, and then the tire. This can be checked by jacking up the vehicle (~if u have a sturdy enough jack), and with front wheels blocked front and back, in neutral, engine off, turn wheels in back, see if resistance to turning is the same, or if brakes are dragging, u should be able to tell. Let me know how u make out.
