Question about 1997 Cadillac Eldorado

1 Answer

Above 65mph the rpm shoots from 1500 to 3000 and back and forth without excelleration. Then I let the rpm get back to 1500 without pressing the gas and it runs fine until about 2000 rpm then the same thing happens. The rpm shoots to about 3000 without excelerating. Thanks, Phil

Humming sound above thirty kms coming from under the engine. can be felt in gas pedal but not in steering wheel or brake pedal. sound increases with speed not rpm's

may be a wheel bearing.. when driving down the road try slightly turning your steering wheel back and forth like your changing lanes..if the pitch of the noise changes theres a good chance thats your problem.

Changed Mass Air Flow sensor, CEL still displays problem

it almost sounds like a fouled fuel injector. this is a tricky problem because it involve so many different operations. the maf is used to deliver fuel and the o2 sensor tells how much. there are 2 o2 sensors one before cat 1 after. mabey check these out visually. the computer should pick these sensors up if there bad. is this a supercharged engine? ill try to come up with some other ideas for you soon.
