if you did not have the discs machined when you did the pads , then the wear pattern of the discs will most likely be the problem
professionally one is not replaced with out the other being done

dont ever use used break components. its dangerous and a waste of time, look for cheap parts but not for breaks!

The breaks are sticking and have a burning smell the break lines, calipers, roaters and pads have all been replaced. The abs fuse was missing but one has been put in. What could the problem be?

On older machines the metal brackets that hold on to the floating calipers will rust. The rust squeezes the calipers and keeps them from floating. When you apply the breaks the caliper moves toward the disc but does not move away from the disc. The extra friction causes the discs to over heat, the brake fluid to over heat, and the brake pads to burn. Remove the calipers and the thin metal plates they slide on . Clean the rust off down to the metal so the calipers will float properly. Replace the pads and discs if necessary and bleed the system to remove the overheated brake fluid. Rust never sleeps.

I need to replace my rear breaks on my car, there are two different types of breaks to choose from and i have no idea which one to get.

drum and disc breaks
drum brakes are the type that have a drum covering the brake shoes
disc brake has a rotor and caliper-they look similar to the front brakes

If it has drum brakes get the drums machined or if it has discs get the discs machined to stop the vibration as with age and heat and water splashes over time the discs and or drums go out of round causing the pads(discs) shoes (drum brakes)to cause a vibration when they are applied,

How do I get old brakes off?

Hello depending on what type of brakes you have on (front or back) (Drum breaks or Disc breaks)
For both you'll have to remove the tire. Then (disc) on the caliper ( (the blue piece)) there is two bolts you'll need to remove but be gentle with them as if you break them, their expensive and it'll cause a giant problem. Just take your time, and you should be good. Then from there you can remove the break pads from inside the caliper and remove the rotor (the roung disc type object)
No for drum breaks, their a headache if you don't know what your doing, removing them is simple, but putting them back together is the problem. You remove the outer drum and it will reveal two pads in a spring maze. For this part, you should have a drawing, or diagram, (I cant provide as I'm not sure how the Audi Configuration is) Remember, the other side drum will be opposite the other side -- same with the disc.

Is changing disc brake pads and rotor on 4 wheel drive different than 2 wheel drive

yes and no does you truck have drum breaks or disc breaks in the back and if not its pretty basic it would be the same as the front make sure you dont get the front and back breaks mixed up, u mite be the for a while lol have fun
