Question about 2000 Jeep Cherokee
My car santro xing .purchased one year back. any problem to start the car . flood water entered upto engine .say 1 and half feet to 2 feet from ground in the parking place entered the car and receded. my observation some mud is settled in the car on the foot board etc . say floor. washed the car with complete water and made it exposed to air so that water can evaporate. now i want to start the car. can i do it
Before attempting to start it, unplug and clean any electrical connectors that were under water. change the diff fluid in both diffs, transfer case lube, trans oil and engine oil. Seals on most are canted inward to prevent oil from escaping but aren't really good at keeping water out when submerged. You may not have any water in any of those items, but its far cheaper to do the oil changes than to replace any one of those.

You can get a subscription to Alldata DIY (do it yourself), in the same format that many shops use to repair cars today. Alldata costs over a $1000 per year for all vehicles to the shops that purchase it, but at http://www.alldatadiy.com/?gclid=CLLEtciuj6cCFdNl7AodrTkfeQ you can purchase just one vehicle @ $25 per year for the first vehicle and $15 for each additional vehicle. Alldata includes wiring diagrams and quality step by step service procedures to repair just about any problem with your car. Thanks and good luck.
