Question about 2001 Chevrolet Venture
My rover 400 started over hating 2 day's after i bought it, unfortunatally i'd put it dowm to the old geezer not putting water in it so i topped it up and carried on driving it. yesturday it over heated really bad and i had to pull over and turn the engine off, when refilled with water and cooled a little i tried to start it but it did'ny seem to want to start, so i bumped it off and it just made me home before over heating again. it did'nt want to start this morning but once started i took it for a ten to fifteen mile run to see how she was and she did'nt sem to over heat, does this mean the head gasket has gone? or is going?
Yes you head gasket is bad. pull your dipstick and see if ther is oil and water on it. it will be milky colored. you will probaly need a head also. your block may be bad also. rovers are known for bad engines. the best thing you can do cost wise is get a rebuilt long block and install it yourself or trade it in to save money
