Do you have spark? fuel pressure? could be a number of things need to narrow it down.

Changing the plugs and wires isn't necessary to get it started. Was it okey before you worked on it? You need spark and fuel, preferably at the correct time. What have you checked out and what tests have you done.

some of the cylinder wont get spark, faulty spark plug, wire or coil. To check pull all spark plugs out, plug them to the wires and put on the engine top and then cranck the engine to see which spark plug not giving a spark

Enige cranck but will not start

So after all that time and money, do you see fuel spray from the injectors when you crank the engine ?
If you have spark at the plugs and fuel spray, the gas may have water in it.

I have a 1.8l zetec, '96 Mondeo. Problem started with the engine occasionally staling while my foot off the accelerator. Now I can cranck it (makes a monotone continuous sound) and it starts if I insist...

It could be the pump. Have the pressure checked. If it is within limits then I would do a tune up on it. PLugs, wires, airfilter, fuel filter.

Running fine. Died and wont start. Cranks fine

can you hear the fuel pump kick on when you turn the key on but without crancking the engine? Generally the fuel pump will prime for about two to three seconds when you first turn the key on. if you don't hear it that's probably the culprit. If you do hear it it may be a bad pump. also should check to see if you have spark. You can do this by removing a plug wire and using another spark plug. Ground the plug to somthing metal and have someone crank the engine (making sure you are not touching the plug or metal) You should see a spark while cranking. Good luck

1993 ford escort cranks but does not start.

get a bottle of quick start have someone to help you and spay in the intake manifold and same time crank the car try to start if start then you have fuel problem fuel filter or fuel pump, if it start for few sec then it shuts of then you have spark problem spark plugs or wires thas it with that car. To check the spark take of spark plug pu the wire to the spark plug where it goes but with spark plug out take a dry cloth hold wire bring the sprk plug close to the engine dont touch the engine 5 milimiters distance have some one to cranck it 2-3 sec and you see if the spark is throwing power, do that with each spark plug put back after you try one than take the other one out hope this helps you out.

1995 Honda accord does not start when car sit for a while

Check your compression. If you don't have a compression checker, take the plugs out, shoot a squirt of oil in each cylinder, replace plugs and crank engine. If engine starts, you are probably looking at a bad set of rings.
