Sounds like a Throttle Position Sensor. Don't let a Dealer tell you that the whole throttle body needs to go. I just looked up a Motorcraft TPS sensor yesterday for a 2006 Expedition. Amazon, free shipping $59.91. Auto parts store $65 to $75. Two T-20 Torx screws and a 10 min job.If that is your issue. Should at least put a scanner on it, to check the code that set that light. Expect more of those type of check lights as it gets older.

While starting vehicle ETC warning display vehicle not throttle

This is a warning that something needs to be checked. This happens a lot when a vehicle is jumped with a dead battery. You may have to take to dealer and have ETC reprogramed.
Throttle Control Warning Light More and more vehicles are doing away with the mechanical throttle cable between the driver's foot and the engine throttle body, replacing it with a "drive-by-wire" system. In this system, a throttle pedal sensor sends data to an electronic throttle control computer, which evaluates and relays the throttle request to a specialized electronic throttle motor on the engine throttle body.
The throttle motor opens or closes the actual throttle blade, which increases or decreases the power output of the engine. The throttle control warning light illuminates when a problem is detected in the electronic throttle system.

Can you still drive the vehicle with service ride control light on

I would check the owners manual to see if the light is to remind you of some maintenance normally done at some predetermined mileage or time. if that is a yes I wouldn't be immediately worry and if it is something to do with a need to repair type light you should check to see if the tires are rubbing if not then drive it to a shop

Reuduced engine power light comes on with the engine light, and the car sputters and stalls

The "Reduced Engine Power" light coming on in combination with the "Check Engine" light simply means that there is a system malfunction and the computer is limiting your throttle so you cannot accelerate the engine. The manufacturer's explaination of this is to "protect the catalytic converters from being damaged." Although this is very true, the whole reason they have gone to fly-by-wire throttle control is just so they can use software to shut the throttle down and keep you from continuing to drive the car with the check engine light on like hundreds of thousands of people do all the time...VERY EFFECTIVE, but EXTREMELY INCONVINIENT to the vehicle owner - especially if you are not one of the ones that would continue to drive with warning lamps going off all over your dashboard. So to put it simply, we all now have to suffer for those that do not care enough about their vehicles to keep them running properly....

OK, I'll get off of my soap-box now......

Rob, there is nothing anybody can tell you about why this is happening without first scanning your computer network and collecting fault codes to see which of the many systems monitored by the engine computer (as well as other control modules) is malfunctioning. I could take a guess, but chances are about 600 to one that I would be wrong. (Just being honest here)

Please also review the following article: Why Is My Engine Light On?

Wish I could be more help.
If you can get the codes, I can probably help you to figure it out.

Does it gallop when you are sitting idle and the RMP gauge bounce up and down between 1000 and 1500? If so, clean the throttle body and see if that solves the problem. I had a similar problem with my 03 Yukon XL (same truck) and cleaning the throttle body fixed it.

I have a 04 dodge ram 1500 the throttle control light went on and now the truck runs but doesnt move is this something i can fix or do i need to take it to a dealer >?

If you have the 5.7L engine then you have the electronic throttle control system on this. What has most likely happened is that either the sensors don't agree between where you would like the throttle to be at and where it actually is or the throttle isn't opening or closing the throttle plate properly. There are a few other things that can go wrong but whenever any type of problem like this happens the system will go into a default mode and won't allow the throttle to move other than to let the vehicle start and idle. You'll most likely have to go to the dealership or a good repair shop that can hook up to the system and figure out which component has failed. Hope this helps get you back on the road!

hi, those sound like throttle actuator codes. the throttle body on your vehicle should be an electronically controlled unit without wires to control actual acceration an deceleration. now, there is also an electronic switch called a potentiometer on the gas pedal that transmits signal to the throttle body to tell it what to do. most of the time, the throttle body is what goes bad here. you should also check the wiring to the unit for bad connection by wiggling the wire connector and seeing if the reduced engine power light comes on. if this happens, you will likely have to replace the wiring pigtail and the throttle body. but, in some cases, the gas pedal switch goes bad, and likely what is not allowing the transmission to shift out of park, the pcm may lock out the solenoid controlling the shifter. but, don't just run with that answer, it maybe completely wrong. i have seen more throttle bodies and wiring harnesses go bad than gas pedal switches in those vehicles. but you might want to have a shop diagnose further, it may even be two unrelated problems, or in the powertrain computer itself.

Electronic Throttle control light came on and car died

We ended up taking the vehicle to a trusted auto repair shop. The codes came up indicating a failed throttle body, most likely in the electronics. After a few more pinpoint tests, the recommendation was to replace the throttle body. The cost for this repair was just under $500. Since there is no aftermarket on this part, Genuine Ford parts were used.

Car is stalling when car slows down or is at a stop; the shakes so bad the steering wheel moves too. check engine light is on.

Go to AutoZone or Advance Auto Parts - they will do a check-engine scan for any car that is model year 96 or newer for free. They'll give you the codes. Get the codes and post them up as a reply here, and we can figure out what's wrong. I'm betting you're throwing some sort of misfire code, so I'd think your problems would be among coil, spark plug, plug wire, distributor, or possibly engine timing. Get your codes and post them and we can narrow it down further from there.
