Can I interchange a 1980-1985,305 chevy engine with a 1991 305 chevy?

as it is the basic 305 block the differences may be fuel injection over carburettor which may require sensor attachments but basically the engine should just slot in place.

What is the timing set at for a 1991 Camero 305 V8 ?

Try 0 degrees. It should state it on the radiator cover, but mine didn't. I tried 10 advance and it started real hard. I think you need to disconnect the single wire terminal near the distributor/coil that sticks out of your harness wrap before you set timing and reconnect it afterwards. That's what I recall from my TPI car and this TBI car seems to have the same electronics. Good luck.

Misfiring

its going to be in the timing you might check the distributor cap for hairline cracks and make sure there arent any but at this point it sounds like timing is off or going out
