Question about 1989 Honda Accord 4 Door

89 Honda Accord Battery Light is On

I have a 89 Honda Accord and my Battery Light is on. I have a brand new battery and a brand new alternator. I have visually check the ground wires for corrosion, tightened the alternator belt and still no luck. I am stumped. Any ideas?

The battery light stays on during driving and will eventually cause my car to die. I have fully recharged my battery and the light still stays on.

The FuseLink is blown. It is a 100 AMP in-line fuse on the red wire from the alternator.

2005 honda accord ex battery light is on?

Well the battery light is telling the driver the alternator is not charging the battery.
So the battery and alternator would need to be tested.
The noise could be the alternator ?

My 89 civic lx keeps blowing the battery fuse everytime I connect the battery

My first guess would be a short inside the alternator, so if you have replaced it, look for a shorted wire in the harness.
Disconnect the wires from the alternator and everything connected to the battery, then connect one at a time until the fuse blows.
Could be a problem with the starter solenoid too.

Where is the location of the fuseable link for the alternator on my 2000 honda accord ex

If the charging light is on its because the alternator failed. Get it tested to verify this, You don't have a fuse for the alternator.

If the charging light is off and you have a dead battery then the battery prabably failed. You can get this tested also

Voltage on the alternator. Battery light keeps

Your Alternator could be bad now!
Take it to like advance auto parts or precision tune, etc and ask them to do a diagnostic test on it to see if it is working properly!

Barrery light comes on

You need a new alternator. The battery dies when the alternator no longer charges the battery when your car is running. Acts like a mini generator when the car is running....lights radio heat ect....

New alternator and battery battery light stays on and car dies

Have you checked the alternator fuse? The regulator needs power from the fuse to turn on the alternator. The old alternator could have blown the fuse.

1989 Honda Accord charging issue

It could be a multitude of problems, however the first thing I'd do is check that battery.

A lot of times, batteries just get wore out and even while being charged; they aren't able to help keep the system stable enough. Even with the alternator pushing out the right amperage, it may actually be causing more problems as it's not holding enough of a charge. Usually when the battery is fully charged the alternator will only power the vehicle itself while not charging the battery.

I'd try the battery first, then look into the wiring off the alternator. Also check for bad terminals, wire connections, or even corrosion on a ground contact.
