Hard starting cold

Is cranking speed slow? Do a voltage drop test on battery cables.and a high output amp meter to test starter draw. normal ampere draw should be 250-350 amps cold and 300-375 amps hot as engine turns these readings should drop to 200-250 amps if not bad starter.

1999 gmc suburban 5.7 vortec hard starting only when cold

The original "poppet" style fuel injectors used in these engines were notorious for causing hard starting/misfire issues on a cold engine. GM has since redesigned the injector "spider" that works much better than the original. Not saying that's what's wrong with your engine, but it is common on them. :)

1990 pontiac subird 2.0 error code12

code 12, isn't actually a trouble code, its a starting point, and ending point for the diagnosis system. when it flashes its telling you ok we're starting the diagnosis and when it flashes again its saying ok its completed. its the codes after the 12 you are looking for.

As for the hard starting when cold, could just need a tune up. The fuel pressure may be low. Compression could be low. I would do a compression test to make sure.

I hope this helped give you some ideas on things to check.

Engine hard starting when cold. I have to give it

Well, this could be a wide variety of things, but one simple fix MIGHT be just cleaning your spark plugs. This sounds weird, but spray them off with plug cleaner and then put them IN THE OVEN. 250 degrees for 3 MINUTES. It will burn off all the ****, including the grease.

My 2001 ford windstar has a hard time starting on a cold start

if it has a hard time starting when its cold it could be the temp sensor should be around the air filter or between the air filter and the upper intake where the throttle body is

Starts hard when cold

Faulty idle control system/sensor, or intake gaskets leaking. If you've been using starting fluid on it, that would be why. Don't ever use starting fluid on a gas engine. If you're lucky enough to not blow your own head off, you aren't going to be lucky enough to cause extreme engine damage. ie: blown intake gaskets, bent valves etc.

1992 F-350 Dsl - very hard to start when cool

are you using cold temperature engine oil!
if not, try changing oil for cold temperature!

hard starting happens due to the cold temperature, air pressure is low during this season so compression inside the engine is low resulting to hard starting!

make sure that all your glow plugs are working.

93 Grand Cherokee 4.0 trouble starting in cold weather

Welcome to the forum. Your question has to many variables. Cold weather out here in Cen Cal this time of year is mid 40s. Is the problem when the vehicle is cold as in ovrernight but starts ok when it is warm? Does it crank OK but seem like it's not getting fuel? If you hold the throttle slightly open, does it start OK?
