Go to sears and buy a code reader that is compatible with GM cars older than 1996.

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

1990 grand prix idles but dies when you try to take off. why

Could be low fuel pressure, a vac leak, or a faulty throttle position sensor.
If the check engine light is on you would check the computer for trouble codes next.

Have great news for you. Since you have a obd1 system, you don't need a scanner to read your DTC codes and reset your check engine light. Here is a link that should help you, good luck and keep me posted. Be glad to help you get your Pontiac running 100% again.  http://www.troublecodes.net/GM/

You can find out at a part store by either asking somebody or looking through a Chiltons/Haynes book on your make, model, and year.

Firing order, 1990 Pontiac Grand am 2.5 l, 4 cyl

Its 1342 or 1432 To guarantee correct firing order take plugs out and place your finger/thumb over the plug hole so you can feel the compression cycle.Have some one flick the key on and off slowly .As soon as No 1 has done its compression cycle the next cylinder to compress will be in the firing order. You only need to test 2 clinders to tell you which one of the two firing orders ive given you.good luck and let me know how it goes
