More likely a bad ignition module. unless that has just been replaced I'd try that. Ford recommends replacing the coil at the same time but you can get away with just the module.

How do i get a wire through the fire wall with out drilling a hole in the fire wall?

wire harnesses go through a fire wall where there are rubber grommets used to stop chaffing and seal the opening. At these grommets ,it is possible to get a wire through by first pushing through a hard wire next to the harness to get an opening then feeding the new wire past it .

Jetski no spark

If ur not getting any fire to ur plug the its gotta be the wire! If ur getting fire to the plug wire then its a coil. The only way to check is if u have a timing light! Or u can pull plug wire off hold with rubber handled needle nose and hold against plug top. Have somebody else try to start it for you. U should see a spark jump across from wire to plug. If u do then ur getting fire all the way to ur plug! Try and see what u come up with!

I have an 2001 GMC sonoma that will not start. The engine is getting gas, fire, air, and the compression is fine. The timing mark on crank lines up. What could be the problem.

you may want to check to see if this engine has a crankshaft position sensor, that tells the computer when to fire the distributor to the right wire. It might be the ecm itself. The best way to see if it is getting fire is to use a test light and while someone cranks the engine check the number one plug wire for fire. If there is no fire to the wire it can be a faulty ignition module in the distributor , ecm, crankshaft position sensor, bad wire bad cap bad coil. Go through process of ilimination

Get fire every where else but through distributor and plugs spins over fine changed distributor, plug wires, coil, and ignition coil and still won't start what else to do i checked for bad grounds and...

You have problem with you timing or did you ever label all the high tension wire before you unplug it. it might be re arrange the firing sequence. 1342 firing order. And the timing position of the distributor were at original place.

I have a 1983 Chevy K-5 blazer 350. Put a new modular. I am getting fire but no fire is getting out. It will crank but will not start. Any help will be greatly appreciated. thank you

Iam confused? How do you get fire and not getting out? If you put a new modular the problem could be in the coil or the wire for the exciter wire in the wrong location.

AM HAVING A HARD TIME GETTING THE SPARK PLUGS AND WIRES IN THE CORRECT ORDER ON A 1982 F 350. I KNOW THE FIRING ORDER BUT CANNOT GET THE WIRES RIGHT. KEEPS BACK FIRING

Look and see if your cap has the number ONE on it. That is where you start with #1 wire. Lift the cap off and see if the rotor is going clockwise or counter clockwise. Then fill in your firing order starting with that direction.

Sometimes the distributor is off a tooth and the vacuum advance pot hits something. People will rotate the wires instead of removing the distributor and resetting it. It sounds like you may be overadvanced to get a cylinder to fire with an open valve.
