Where are the o2 sensors located on 2004 dodge durango and how many are there?

I believe you may have three (3) O2 sensor, (2) of the sensor is on ether side of the exhaust down pipe and some times called up stream O2 sensor, the third O2 sensor know to some as the down stream O2 and is after the Catalytic converter.
The up stream O2 monitors the left and right side banks and sends signals to the ECM to make the adjustments to the injectors to keep the proper air/fuel ratio.
The down stream O2 monitors the catalytic converter and sends signal to the ECM if the catalytic converter has gone bad.
Good luck and hope this helps. If you get it scanned at Auto Zone, they should be able to let you know which O2 has gone bad so as to not change all three. You could always check the wire harness to the down stream O2 for corrosion.

What is error code 2097

Hi there! error code P2097 means that DOWN STREAM FUEL SYSTEM 1/2 RICH
if your car is a dodge neon 2.0L second gen probably you need to check this:

O2 sensor 1
exhaust leak before 02 sensor 1
O2 sensor circuir maybe the harnes can be check if the wires of the O2 sensor is not burn sometimes the wires is touching the exhaust manifold and then start to burn and wires start to fail or harnes

O2 return signal
fuel contamination

try this:

reset your ecu or pcm (its the same) how? ok take a 10mm wrench and disconnect the battery all night and tomorrow in the morning connect your battery start your car and then drive if the check ligth comes on again then shure you have a problem there! so start to check if your O2 sensor is ok, or maybe you have to change the fuel filter (you have to change every 60,000km)

check too if you can see any exhaust leak!

hope this help !

1997 neon, fuel pump fuse keeps blowing

I had a neon that did this in my shop. I found one of the wires to the Oxygen sensors was melted near the exhaust and when you would give it gas the exhaust would flex and short out the o2 sensor.

Location of oxygen sensor

Under the truck, driver side exhaust pipe, there are 2, 1 is before the catalytic converter, the other is after. They screw into the side of the exhaust pipe.

Lack of fuel when accelerating

This might help. It looks like you O2 sencor had gone bad or the signal has and causing multiple mis fire. according to your codes.
PO171 System too Lean (Bank 1

PO174 System too Lean (Bank 2)

PO300 Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire Detected

Causes of PO300
Fuel injectors, related wiring, sensors and computer issues
Running out of gas, or poor fuel quality
Evaporative emissions system (EVAP) concerns: fuel vapors leaking into engine
Incorrect Fuel Pressure
EGR system concerns

I'ld start with chaning the O2 sensors first but sheck for bad wire connection. Hope this helps and good luck

1996 Neon is blowing black smoke from the exhaust.

If good, clean fuel, good spark etc. 171 is lean mixture according to my sources.. Thus I'd say if engine is being told from O2 sensor that mixture is lean, that would explain all the extra fuel getting ( dumped ) fed to engine. I guess i"d start by changing O2 sensor. (Oxygen sensor.) If it has 2, do the one upstream, closest to engine on exhaust manifold or pipe.

Engine code on a neon

it sounds like you have a fuel issue. you should check for proper fuel pressure. its should be 48 PSI.

if its not, it could be a clogged fuel filter, a malfunctioning fuel pressure regulator, clogged fuel pump strainer, or even a bent, kinked fuel line.

if the fuel pressure is correct, its most likely a faulty fuel injector.

by the way, you car doesn't have a mass airflow sensor, it has a MAP sensor
