It's your dimmer switch on the dash. Easy to change out, but about $80. If you pull it out of dash and squeeze sides, may come on. If you're cheap like me, pull board out of switch module and touch solder joints on board with a soldering gun. It worked for me.

1998 Jeep Laredo continuous clicking sound passenger side under dash it runs battery down ignition is off continuous clicking please help thank you

A number of people in the link report the same problem on the Jeep Forum and there are a number of fixes.

I also found this for you.

The problem seems to be a short in one of the rear dome lights, which seems to be affecting two fuse circuits. The temporary solution was to remove one fuse and replace another (blown), and remove the bulb from the bad dome light. I had to remove "fuze#5-15 amps-Interior Lighting", this stopped the clicking noise, I replaced blown fuze#8-15 amp-Overhead Console, keyless Entry ..." This fuse also seems to effect the alarm system (contrary to the documentation), and I think that was what was killing the engine. The problem existed before fuse#8 blew. Removing fuse#5 may have solved the problem, but the other fuse blew while I was testing the dome lights, and the jeep will not start without it.

Found lots of wires bare or broken in all the door wiring harnesses ( in rubber boot that goes to the door)I first checked both fuse 5 and 8 but both o.k. After fixing the broken wires found fuse 8 had blown. Replaced that and all is well again. Thanks for the advise got me looking in the right direction.

. Fuse box located in passenger side door jam...check #8 fuse if its not blown check others...if it is blown, check your radio, and interior lights for good ground
Clicking noise under passenger dash Jeep just shuts down

There should be a fuse box under the hood and in the car. The one under the hood is most likely to be the one with blown fuses after doing that. If thats not the problem you probably burned up a fusible link which is in the wire harness and can be a trick to find. 4 thumbs up is appreciated if this helps.

My dashboard lights are out and so are the passenger side running lights. Bulbs on lights are in working order. How do i trouble shoot?

Seems that the fuse is blown. The fuse box is under the dash on the driver's side outer wall. Check fuses and replace if blown.

Dashboard light is out, break lights dont come on heater dosent work nor windows but car is running

all of the items that you list that are not working seem to be ignition fused, check the main fuse links for the ignition circuits i would say it has blown, hope this helps.

Is there a roller or switch to adjust the dash light brightness? Have you just accidentally bumped it when doing the stereo install and switched it off? If not then it's likely that you have blown a fuse while wiring up the stereo. The easiest way to check fuses is to buy a cheap test light from any auto parts store and hook the clip lead to an exposed metal part of the body (door hinges are usually good) and probe each fuse at both of its exposed terminals (without removing the fuses). The test light should light up on both of the terminals, if it lights up on only one then the fuse is blown. If it doesn't light up at all then the circuit does not have power to it. This test should be done with the key in the on position. Also, the fuse box cover may have pictures of the relevant circuits on it, and you may be able to figure out from the picture which is the fuse for the dash lights and just pull it and visually check it.
