Need to replace 1997 e350 ford Ignition ,got sterring wheel off,how do i take out Ignition ?

You dont have to remove the steering wheel on a most Ford car and trucks you insert the key turn to the on position and there is a small pin under the ignition switch that you push and it comes right out.you have to remove the steering wheel cover above and below the ignition switch.

How to replace a ignition tumble on a 1996 ford e350


Remove the steering wheel cover (that covers the horn), and all parts under it. You probably have to buy a tool to disarm and remove the air bag. Remove the wheel from the steering column and from there you can see your next steps.

1.You will have to remove steering wheel. 2. Remove lock plate. 3. Remove turn signal harness. 4. Remove horn harness and spring 5. Remove #15 torx screw. 6. Insert key and turn to ACC position 7. Slide out cylinder and replace 8. Reinstall in reverse order.

there is a plastic gear with a pin that usually falls out you will have to disassemble the column to repair this

remove the stearing wheel, get a spring compressor made for steering coloums (they sell them at pepboys for$10)  remove the lock, then the blinker assambly by 3 screws and then one on the switch. if its in the switch its self and not the lock cyclinder, drop the steering coloum down and it on top of the colum with a rod going to it
