Question about 1997 Dodge Intrepid
Most common culprit is whats called the IAC or idle Air Control Valve. It maintains the vehicles engine idle speed when you are not pressing on the gas pedal. You can eithe clean the valve assembly by removing it from the throttle body so u can access the air passage also, or just replace it with a new one and a new gasket. b eusr eot clean the air pasage too since you have it off. the only other thing is to have a reputable repair facility runa full diagnostic test on the engine systems and see what they say.
I hope this helps.
