SOURCE: Fuel pressure regulator
Very easy if you have the new one just look at how it is mounted, most times just a couple of retainning screws and it comes right out, bleed the fuel system of pressure before you take it out or put a rag over it, there will be about 40 PSI in the fuel rail.

My friend, I suggest you go by your local Auto Parts Store and purchase a Haynes Repair Manual on this vehicle. There are many sensors and electronic controls involved with this engine as I'm sure you already know. Any one of these can memic something that "it is not".
If your problem is the Pressure Regulator, it is located inside the "Tunnel Ram" intake manifold along with the multiport fuel injection system.
Now,,, before I went through the trouble and expense of going into the Intake Manifold, I would run the EMC in Diagnostic Mode and see if there are any codes present.

if it has a single fuel line the regulator is built into the fule pump/sending unit, on systems with return lines the regulator will be on the return line
