Brake lights stay on when engine is turned off.

The brake light switch may be stuck in the on position, or the brake pedal is not returning all the way up when you don't have your foot on it. Usually the brake light switch is mounted somewhere near the pivot point for the brake pedal lever under the dash.

Instrument cluster brake and check engine light stay on

The brake light can stay on if the master cylinder is low on brake fluid or if the emergency brake is on. The switch that turns the brake light on could be stuck on by the emergency brake pedal or handle. The check engine light is on because the cars computer senses a fault in the cars system. What does it mean when your bright lights stays on

It means you are trying to blind the on-coming drivers...dimmer switch doesn't work? In most cases , it is a malfunctioning dimmer switch. They don't go bad that often, so you could consider a used one from a wrecking or salvage yard.

Should be on brake pedal under dash, could be brake switch is sticking or bad try pulling up on your brake pedal, if tail lights go off that's what it is, if not your switch is staying stuck in.

Brake lights stick on

It sounds like the brake light switch down on the brake pedal is stuck and it needs replaced,Its got like a push button setup when you apply the brakes the brake pedal pushes the brake switch button in brake lights come on and when you relase the brake pedal the button on the switch comes back out and brake lights go out but if switch is worn out or sticking the lights will stay lit even when off the brake pedal so just replace the brake light switch down on the brake pedal.

Brake lights come on and stay on when started.Recently replaced left brake light bulb

It sounds like the brake switch on the brake pedal arm is stuck its like a push button type switch when you press the brake pedal down it pushes the button in on the switch which makes the brake lights come on,when you take your foot off the brake pedal the button is supposed to come back out if it doesn't the brake lights will stay on.

With the ignition off, the rear tail lights won't turn off

hiya if the rear lights are remaining on ? with no ignition it will be the brake lights staying on this is easily remendied/ checked by trypulling the brake pedal up by hand and see if lights go off ? if so then you will need to adjust the b/light switch which is positioned adjacent to pedal and can be screwed inwards towards the pedal untill the plunger on switch is pushed into the switch which puts lights off ensure pedal is fully up then adjust switch reconnect the wire/plug and press pedal slightly to ensure b/lights operate ok and then go off with pedal released ? on hyundai the brakelights do not req ignition on to operate hence more likely problem is as above good luck
