One issue is octane. You must use the specified octane, according to Ford. Lower octane is more explosive, many owners were using higher octane and generating yoru complaint.

My 03 Lincoln LS started idling rough only in the mornings when first started. Rest of the day it starts and runs smooth.

Sounds like it might be leaking intake manifold gaskets. They leak when cold but as the engine warms up they swell and seal up. This is common with rubber intake manifold gaskets.

This sounds like you have a pcv hose that has become an open vacuum leak. It is located under the upper intake, or given the year your air filter box may not be correctly sealed and possibly have a mass air flow sensor concern. Any Check engine light or codes to work with ? I f you have further questions just leave a comment on my page,

I'm wondering if my daughters 2009 Lincoln MRK that she bought in Edmonton, Alberta is equipped with a block heater and if so where the cord is situated?

if it came with a block heater there should be a way to plug it in under the hood its not that hard to install give these websites a try www.alldatadiy.com and www.autozone.com if all fails stop by you located Lincoln or Ford dealership and that be able to show you what to do wish you the best of luck and it has been cold here in Michigan too take care Michigan Man.
