I'm going to guess that's it's just a two wire hook up. There's only two ways to hook it up. Try it one way and if the door locks when you press lock on the switch it's on there right, otherwise just reverse the wires.

Driver's side power window was inop. Window failed to go back up. Chevy dealer replaced the regulator motor and now working. Now the power dood lock switch on drivers side won't unlock doors.. Is the...

Hi, that wire is disconnected when the door panel is removed to work on the window motor. Take the car back and ask them to reconnect your door locks. If you want to fix it yourself, you may be able to access the connector by removing only the control panel where the door lock switch is installed. Remove any visible screws and then pry gently to pull up the panel. Odds are, however, that the whole door panel will need to be pulled loose to find the cable. You can possibly just pull the bottom of the panel loose, but do it carefully. Feed the wire back up to the control panel and reconnect to the switch. Thanks for using Fixya.

Driver's side window will not work. Door locks work.

My mechanic took out the panel on the driver side control because my right rear passenger window would not work after disconnecting the battery (but the control on the passenger rear door works) and when he put it back, it worked..it's possible it's just a loose wiring connection. My car is a 2006 Lexus RX330 with 58K miles on it.

Driver side window motor is out how do i remove motor and install new one

Remove the door panel: 1 Unscrew the lock knob. 2. Remove the door release escutcheon (cup inside of the door handle). 3. You may nee to remove the A pillar interior trim ( the plastic running from the dash to the roof ). 4. Remove the door pull handle to unscrew the screws underneath it. Look for little round plastic covers to remove with an awl or ice pick to gain access to screws. 5 Get a long flat head screw driver or a wonder bar and work your way in under the panel and interior door skin starting with the bottom rear portion of the panel. You will feel the tension of the door panel clips. Pop them loose one at a time. It is best to use the tool to get two or three fingers from each hand in there and firmly lift the panel in a quick pulling motion. When I say firmly, I mean don't pull so hard as to break the panel once the clip releases. Once you have the panel off there usually three screws holding the window regulator on the door. Unplug the wire connector to the motor.
There is a screw or clip holding the portion of the regulator that slides along the bottom of the window. Take that off and save the plastic and rubber bushings for install. Installation is the reverse of this procedure.
Test the window before reassembly. Tie up long hair and don't wear jewelry when working on electronics. Good luck. You can find these procedures specific for your car at the library in a Haynes or Chilton's manual. Sometimes they have factory service manuals too. You can also buy the after market books at Pep Boys or Autozone, ect. They are good to have for reference if you work on your car and they have electrical schematics too. My drivers side passenger door wouldn't open either, then...

You'll need to remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. You'll need to lift the door panel upwards in order to get it off the window ledge. If needed, you can pull back the weather seal (can't reuse it, but it's not that important) and you will be able to access everything inside the door

Power lock and dome light does not come on when door is opened.

I had the same problem with my 2005 dodge ram 3500 and found the wires were being pinched that run through the rubber boot on my right rear door. I had this fixed by dodge but there splice didn't last, so I took some 16ga wire and spliced it into the wire that operates the power door lock on that side and it fixed the problem. Dodge service shop did a sad job of splicing the wires back together by twisting the wires together and tape and wire broke.

Electric window cable solution

My drivers side quit working. I took the door/window assembly apart and found that a small plastic clip had worn/broken. I modified it to hold the cable securely. The problem I had was knowing how the cables routed in the door and window assembly to put it back together. I found an online picture of a new one and routed my cables per the photo. It has not given me problems since. Time invested, about 3 hours. Cost was $0. If you buy a new one, cost is about $80 (online) and time would be about 2 hours. If you have the $$, buy a new one.

Because this problem is the result of the attempted break-in, it is probably not possible to troubleshoot the electrical mixup without a diagram of the entire system. I recommend you buy a Haynes or Chilton aftermarket service manual which will have the diagrams needed to trace the wiring and put it back in order. These are available in any auto parts store at a cost of $18-$30 US and you will find it useful for other problems too since they are nearly as complete as the factory manuals and often have much better photos and illustrations since they are aimed toward us, the owner, not the factory trained mechanic.
