Coolant leaking on passenger floor

Sounds like the heater core is leaking. The heater core is located inside the vehicle, usually contained within a plastic box, when the heater core leaks enough, the plastic box will fill up with coolant and eventually leak out, usually onto the passenger side floor. Hope this helps.

Overheating

Was the coolant old and weak? At ten degrees, a weak coolant could result in freezing and that can cause an engine freeze plug to burst open. Check the side of the engine block for signs of leakage around the freeze plugs. Another possibility is the heater hoses. They run along the passenger side of the engine as well. The last possibility is the heater core. If it leaks you may smell coolant inside the passenger compartment. You MAY get a wet floorboard on the passenger side. Coolant leaking from the core usually will fall into the condensation pan for the A/C and run out of the passenger compartment thru the firewall on the passengers side.

01 durango leakiing coolant nea trans and inside of vehicle

Leaking inside sounds like the heater core. If the core is broke right where the heater hoses connect, it might be losing coolant down both sides of firewall, inside and outside. Otherwise, look for a leak at the intake manifold. That might run down back of engine near the transmission, as you indicated.
Good luck.

Coolant leaks onto ground ONLY when the heater is on. is there a simple way to access the heater core?

yes the heater core is located on the passenger side of the center console of the inside of the car, there is a panel there remove it and you will see 2 silver aluminum lines coming in from the firewall that go into the black box inside the dash the heater core is in there,,,there is 1 phillips screw and 2 slip fittings, and when you slide the heater core out your gonna leak alot of coolant onto the passenger side floor, drain the coolant, but your still gonna leak some in,,,,easy to swap, just take your time and youll be ok,,juswt make sure you clip the clips onto the lines all the way or they will pop off and leak alot,,,lube the new orings with like wd40 or something,,

Leaking Coolant inside passenger side, coolant fumes inside.

Hi, its definitely the heater core that is leaking at this point. replacing this core will fix this issue. In the mean time, you can shut of the flow of coolant by using the shut off valve near the core. this will prevent anymore water damage until you can get this issue repaired.

Please rate and have a great day:)

Antifreeze/coolant leaking from under passenger side dash

If it's your heater core, unless you're a mechanic you probably should get professional help. The heater core is located on the firewall and many parts need to be replaced to get to it. Do you see water on the floor inside the vehicle, Many times a heater core will leak inside.
