How do I top up my brake fluid on my bmw530d 2006

ok your beemer doest need brake fluid added unless there is a leak in the system. you have brake pad wear indicators that light up dash light when brakes get low. the fluid in system goes down as pads wear fluid does not need added to system. at a glance at master cylinder i can tell if pads need looked at. the master cylinder is under engine cover at fire wall drivers side remove and look but dont add unless a leak is present and then have repaired.

Concerning OnStar FMV- The red light remains on after I start the car and the small triangle on the top blinks yelloe. Does anyone have any ideas why?

check the brake fluid level ,top up if needed although this is a sign the brake pads are worn down but anyway top up fluid and if still doesnt go out then remove the cap and shake it as the ball valve float contact sensor can stick .check brake pad thickness straight away and look behind rear drums for sign of a fluid leak

I have a 2002 pontiac grand prix. my e-brake light will stay on when the e-brake is not on.

Check your brake fluid level. Low fluid levels will cause the brake light to come on. If the fluid is not low, there could be a problem with the emergency brake light switch or the brake fluid level sensor.

The computor tells me that my parking brake is set and that i am low of brake fluid 1995 olds

OK, so did you check the fluid and top it off? If the fluid level is low, it may be time for brake service.

What kind of power steering fluid is used for a 1998 ford mustang (v6)? Is Dot 3 brake fluid ok?

Do not use DOT 3 brake fluid in a power steering pump. It will eat away all of the seals and hoses. If you are looking at power steering fluid, any power steering fluid will work. If we are talking about brake fluid, Then yes use DOT 3 brake fluid or DOT 4 break fluid. The top of the master cylinder should tell you which to use.

My brake light in dash has been on for 3 days 1986 nissan pathfinder, my hand brake is not engaged, anyone know how to fix or what to check?

hi this brake light also comes on if the brake fluid level is low try topping up? if fluid is very low ? then it could be due to a leak on brake system ie wheel cylinder of a pipe? or it could be fluid has displaced to cyls /calipers due to wear of brake pads and or brake shoes ?? SO if you have not checked fluid recently ?honestly ?? may i suggest if light goes off after top up of fluid ? check your b/pads they may req replacing asap before they damage discs ?hope this helps

Can anyone add brake fluid to the truck? is there

There is nothing special to adding brake fluid. With the hood open on the drivers side on the firewall you should see the master cylinder. The cover is either a small round cap that will just spin off or a rectangular one that will pull off. Use DOT 3 fluid and fill. Make sure no dirt falls in.

2002 VW passat wagon brakes

Check the level of the brake fluid, as the pads wear down the fluid level falls slightly and the sensor reacts and gives the warning, it may happen more as you are cornering and the brake fluid moves, try gently topping up the brake fluid it doesn't need much..

Brakes how do i add brake fluid to a 2005 dodge caravan?

Hi, the brake fluid goes under the bonnet the bottle will be located at the top of the engine and it will be either side of the engine it should have a warning label on it tellin you to put only brake fluid in.
Make sure you get the right one.
If you need further assistance then give me a shout back ok and ill be glad to help.

The filler bottle should have either a clear bottle where you can see the fluid level and the top up mark or if its a black on then it will have a stick attatched to the under side of the filler cap with marks on it telling you how much to top up.
Just top it up with small amounts at a time so you dont over fill.
If you get brake fluid on any paint work it will fetch the paint off the same as paint stripper so use some rag to wipe up any spillage

Where do I add the transmission fluid on a 2004 bmw 545i and how many liters will it take to fill.

The fill drain plug I believe is on the left side of the transmission about 1in above where the oil pan bolts on. I think it is a 7mm allen bolt.If you are topping off the fluid make sure to check the fluid level at the fill hole while the engine temp is still cold. It should trickle out while the engine is in park and running. Make sure to tighten to spec and use approved oil. There should be a label on the transmission pan itself listing the part number for the fluid to use.
