Have you check the fuse's ? I would,'t think you have a shorting problem if their just not working ! If the fuses are good an the lights are not working your going to need to find a wiring diagram at http://bbbind.com/free_tsb.html Go on you tube an watch some videos on basic electrical trouble shooting ,how to read a wiring diagram . Then get yourself a DVOM - digital volt ohm meter an test the circuit . Electric Testing Techniques You Need to Know

What lights ? Exterior - interior or all lights ? Could be the light switch , dimmer switch , daytime running lamps module . The engine cranks but doesn't start - cranks but no start is the proper terminology ! What's missing Spark , fuel , compression ? Do you have a SECURITY light lit on the dash ? Go to you tube an check out some videos on basic trouble shooting ! Also I suggest you look at basic electrical trouble shooting . Suggest you read this as well . New Battery that is already drained. All interior lights on after battery installed and would not turn off

Too many things to trouble shoot here. The first things I would check would be the door switches one by one in a series of opening and closing them individually. The next thing would be the dash control for the interior lights. The next would be the body computer and would not be a bad thing to check your fuse distribution panel either for shorts.

97 Cadillac Deville interior lights, headlamps, and cig lighter all out

Hello Danny Nichola,

I would STRONGLY RECOMMEND shooting out ALL the EXISTING TROUBLES ... before taking engineered circuits
into complex new situations... never considered during
initial design.

My BEST ADVICE: Put all the lights BACK
as originally DESIGNED/SPECIFIED.

Compounding EXISTING troubles... with
undefined circumstances ... can only make ultimate trouble resolution more complex and problematic.

FREE circuit drawings are at BBB Industries website
(registration required... these are real GM documents)...

Look over the schematics... fix all you troubles with
real lamps (per original design SPECIFICATIONS...

MAKE SURE EVERYTHING is working perfectly..

Then & only then
re-design the CIRCIUTS with "modern" lights
(once you have your own engineering degree)...

Wont start

check for 12 volts at starter from battery, and make sure power and grounds are on well, remove starter and take to auto zone to test for free, then buy a chiltons if that doesnt work and trouble shoot it from the no start category, could be other sensors.
