Engine light indicates glow plugs should be replaced. After replacing them 2X, the code still reads replace glow plugs. Is the problem further down the line somewhere?

The wiring harness for the glow plugs(the moulded bit that actually attaches to the glow plugs) sometimes goes bad. it's not too badly priced and fairly easy to replace. on top of that make sure you have exactly the right glow plugs. there were a few choices and if they are not exactly the same as the ones originally in the car you may have problems

The first thing to do is have the codes read as the codes indicate where the fault is
Supa-cheap shops now offer a scanner service and although it costs a few dollars ,you will be armed with information that will either be the same as what the service dealer is saying or you will be able to get a second opinion from another service dealer.

run the fault codes to find out what sensor put the engine light on. Faulty GLO plugs will not shut an engine down but things like low oil level , low coolant level, over heating, TCM problems . Check around and make sure everything thing is ok.

2006 Ford F-250 6.0 Engine just shuts down at an idel or going down the road. it has a bad glow plug and shows a code for it . I just replaced the cam posithion sensor. Does the engine keep shuttting

I have had the same problem with my Ford mustang the only thing is that it only shuts down in high idle, after the engine temperature warms up there is no shut down. It could have something to do with the transmission or the temperature sensor the best thing to do is get a full diagnostic and not do it your self.

If you can't pull the codes from the pcm it has either died or lost it's ground assuming it has power. I would try to get a wiring diagram and check both the power and the ground for the computer itself, because it is what turns on the pump and the wait to start light.

Sluggish performance and engine light - added new plugs and oil

You need to check for engine codes to see what is wrong. Bring it to a parts store for a free scan for codes. The check engine light indicates a problem, probably the emissions system, which is causing the poor performance. The parts store will plug a hand held scan tool into the cars diagnostic port (usually located under the dash) and 'read' any codes stored in the cars computer. They can them tell you what code #'s come up, what they mean, and how to correct the problem. If you have any questions after that, post them here w/ the code #;s for further help.

I'd suspect a sticking injector--car should have set the check engine light. Read the code(s) to progress further. If the coil pack were a problem, it would not be likely to fix itself. If the codes indicate an injector problem, try an injector cleaner in the fuel--worst case, replace the bad injector. The codes should indicate which cylinder to change the injector.

according to haynes beetle repair the code is turbocharger boost pressure control valve positive deviation. to trouble shoot
check the wiring, connecting pipes.using a hand held vacuum pump apply vacuum to the wastegate actuator,(with engine not running) check the actuator arm and lever for freedom of movement , disconnect the electrical connector from the boost pressure control valve. using an ohmmeter check the solenoid windings for an open circuit, the boost pressure control valve should measure about 25 to 35 ohms if excessive resistance or open circuit is indicated replace control valve.
a scan tool is required for a complete diagnosis of the system control circuits some may be rented from a local auto repair store hope this helps and norrows it down for ya
