How much oil should normally be burnt on a Peugeot 207. 2007. 1.6 L auto. 5 door hatch if motor is in very good cond between oil changes (have done approx. 5000kms)

Anon, You really should look in your manual or contact manufacturer to find what is considered normal oil consumption. I have never owned a Peugeot, but have had numerous other makes, mostly domestics to USA and Canada and never had to add oil between changes at approx. 5000 Km.s before oil changes.

Hi my peugeot 308 is using more oil than usual and the oil pressure warning sign keeps coming on but no obvious signs of an oil leak

After cooling, check the radiator water for signs of engine oil. Oil can be forced into the water cooling system through faulty seals or gaskets.

Peugeot 308 1.6vti petrol. i had the message stating check engine oil. so i topped up just an extra half litre or less, now straight away anti pollution fault came up? any help please

Check engine oil could of been triggered by a number of things. Putting in more oil is rarely a cure. You getting poor mileage when that light comes on is more of a clue. When car Computer has what can be many false readings caused by a sensor or a mechanical problem, the computer tries to fix the problem within the range of the sensors ability..i.e more gas or more air, advance timing... slow down water flow to raise coolant temperature. When the problem is beyond the sensors ranges, the computer will go into "limp" mode, which will let the engine run, but all the sensors are not engaged so efficiency is the last thing you will get. You need a real diagnostic apparatus hooked to your engine by a good mechanic, and see if the the compression ratio, valves, injectors etc. are running properly and that also your sensors are functional. Never trust theose handheld units to tell you the truth. They can't diagnose mechanical problems like a valve not closing or a broken ring etc.

I've got an Peugeot 308 1.6hdi which when on a long journey comes up with low oil pressure stop had the car checked by a mechanic and he said he can't physically find anything wrong with it the oil pr

Engine is not getting enough oil to build the pressure. Either downpipe in sump is partially blocked or the oil pump is not good or oil filter is congested. I once opened the sump and guess what " Sump pipe was just screwed with one screw with a gap on other side causing the oil not being sucked properly". There is a pressure tester method just google it and try to find the bad oil circulation point.

2008 peugeot 308 1.6 sport, temperature reads normal, but heater only blows very slightly warm air.

There can be all sorts of other DIY's from draining, flushing and refilling system, thermostat replacing and buying a new car.
Mine from City Peugeot was going to be a £2000 fix and they didn't even know what was wrong. It was just a hail Mary.
Other things that beat them was the rear light cluster not working - £400 fix, was just a loose fuse in the glove box.
The 26mpg when it should be 43, they just say is in the ok bracket, even though I reported it within 2 months of buying and it was sold as 43mpg.
Best advice - do not buy another Peugeot. I now cycle everywhere unless it is raining. I stay local and cant afford another car. Thats all fair I suppose.

I have a peugeot 308 2008 1.6 VTI sport, the car is new to me and I have had some problems initially with the car which the dealer sorted out. I have had it back a week and now the oil light flashes...

if the oil light flashes then you have one or both reasons, the oil level and the oil pressure
the oil level indicates the oil quantity in the oil sump, you can check it manually by means of oil gauge and do not trust electronic oil gauge, it could be damaged becuse of high temperarture of the oil(by the way this could be your problem)
the other case is the oil pressure and you have to check the oil filter.
any how let me remind you that 308 is equiped with multifunction display, so there should be a warning message about this fault

I have a Peugeot 308 Sport. The computer usually shows "oil ok" when I start the engine. Today it has said "check engine oil level". I have placed oil in it but it still does the...

you have overfilled it by the sound of it and too much oil can damage the cat,So keep the revs down and stop off at a dealer as i think you have a faulty sensor and nothing else wrong but as its a europeon car then only a dealer can read the OBDII iam afraid .You will not damage anything although you overfilled it with oil providing its not more half inch over the full mark .
