Get a battery check first and have it charged. Then, switch off all lights, radio, ignition switch. Reconnect the charged battery negative ground first, then, the positive terminal. Find if there's a spark. if it does, then, you must check your electrical wiring since this is grounded. Do not connect the positive terminal. Clear the grounded connection first. If no spark, go ahead. Crank your engine, and let it run at neutral position. And check the voltage that goes out of the alternator, this must be more than 15 volts DC. Then check the voltage output of the regulator which must be 13
to 14 volts DC. However, if you cannot get the right voltage at the
alternator., you have to replace it. Then, you can check the regu-
lator output voltage, and get the right voltage. Get this done,. and
send your e-mail for the result.

SOURCE: car stalls then battery goes dead

This problem sounds a lot like a charging system issue. I would check to see if your alternator is charging properly. With the car started and a load is placed on the electrical system, such as turning on the headlights, A/C on high, etc., check the DC voltage at the battery. It should be right around 14.4 volts. If it's only reading right around 12V or lower, your alternator is at fault and should be replaced or rebuilt at an auto electric shop. It's a simple test and certainly won't take long to diagnose.

I hope this helps! :)

Car battery goes dead after car sits for more the 24 hours. It will start when jump started. Battery charges if a trickle charger is used. All new belts have been put on the alternator. The ABS light will...

As a simple preliminary test, try disconnecting the battery before you let the car stand for a while and see if it will start when reconnected. (If this will not affect radio codes and alarm systems). This will give you an idea if it is the battery or something in the car that is draining the battery.

STARTS HARD. CODE 300 MULTIPLE MISFIRES. 141K MILES

My first thought without viewing the codes is a camshaft sensor, But I will get back with code description. But thinking further, if your alternator has a bad diode or regulator and you battery goes dead, and you are certain your battery is ok, then it would have to be something like that, and the code is because your loosing power as your battery drains.

(1) have battery checked
(2) Alternator checked!
(3) an easy way to check is disconnect battery and see if it goes down. If it doesn't, then check alternator next.
(4) bad coil packs or crank sensor, vacumn leak, bad hose or disconnecter.
(5) bad wires.

Hope one of these helps. It is hard to diagnose this problem online.

2008 toyota avalon dead batery

There sounds to be a problem with your alternator. If the car went dead every few hours or week I'd say its the battery. But if the car lasts 3 months between problems, then you're battery is a champ despite fighting a losing battle.  Do you ever take long trips that coincide with this problem? If your battery isn't recharging then it could drain to dead on a longer trip.  There could also be an electrical problem like a bad ground that only shorts bad every once in a while. Read the voltage when the battery is connected to the car with everything off and then again when the battery is disconnected from the car. Also, have you had the alternator checked? Have you inspected the engine for bad grounds? Have you tried buying one of those battery saver devices? Hope this helps.
