I added air shocks to my 1995 lincoln town car because the air suspension bags died. what pressure should they take and do they lose air so you have to add air?

The Stock Air Bags self Leveled, your new System should have come with PAperwork or is there a Air Nozzle that you have to fill? The Bags should come with a Pressure Window for a Firmer Ride or Softer Ride.

How to clear trouble codes on a 1996 lincoln cont ( OBDii)

CRC MAF Cleaner--never use carb cleaner

The intake ducting gasket caused a lean condition
& your problem with O2 Sensor

The front or upstream sensors get replaced at
100,000 miles, before they slow down or fail,do that also

If code remains disconnect battery for one min or use a code
reader.

My car is making whinning high pitch sounds when im driving then it will stop and eventually come back, is it the power stearing pump or the power stearing hose leaking

You most likely have a leak. You shouldn't ever have to add power steering fluid. It is best to get it checked out and repaired while the leak is small. If you wait, the leak will get worse and the oil gets dumped on hoses, belts, wiring harnesses, computer sensors, etc. and can cause severe damage to all of these items, as well as rubber engine mounts and suspension parts. To properly maintain your vehicle, NO fluid leak should EVER be "tolerated". Fluid leaks (of all types) are the leading cause of sending cars to the scrap yard way before their time.

DOES 1996 LINCOLN HAVE AIR BAGS IN FRONT? IS IT HARD TO CONVERT THE REAR TO SPRINGS?

No. The Lincoln Continental does not have air bags in the front. It is not exactly hard to convert the rear airbags to springs. It is more time consuming than anything. I have a 1996 Town Car, I had a mechanic replace the air shocks with springs.

Front air bags keep going down we replaced a cylanoid in the front lines and that was not it any guesses?

Spray Windex on the lines and connections and I bet you will find the leak. Air coming through the Windex will produce bubbles.

I bought a 96 lincoln continental a month ago and at first the car performed great then it rained, now the car is so low its almost resting on the tires and when I try to drive it it seems that it has no...

The Continental has an "air ride system" from the factory.
Remember air shocks from the past to raise the back and stuff those huge tires in? Sorta' like that.
Either a hole has been worn in a hose or one of the bags.
It's a common prob. with the Lincolns.
Grab a chair, sit down, click this link and find what's in reality a less expensive fix IF you decide to replace the entire system.... (Click on "replace the entire system")
Keep in mind your's can probably be repaired, but it's getting old and those rubber air bags under neath are getting old and fragle....

Arnott replacement springs for 96 Continental are to weak. Arnott has been no help. They seem like they don't understand what a weak spring is. Car bottoms out with one 150lb. person in the back seat.

Mine does same thing. 1990 Continental

the compressor sits under the fender and is held in place by 4 rubber mounts to lower noise, sounds like the leak is in one of the valves at the top of the strut ? if you like this car the perment fix is to by a kit from strutmasters .com and replace all 4 air bags and it will ride like the old pre 90s cont , good luck p.s this is about $1,200 ouch
