Question about 2005 Ford Econoline Cutaway
Ford 2005 E350 econoline van has had a battery lite starting about 2 months ago. I first changed the alternator and had battery checked. They recharged the battery. About 3 weeks after that another battery lighte. They checked it and said alernator was throwing wrong voltageand it was just a bad replacement part.Replaced alternator again.Started getting an intermittent battery light about a month after that.It would come on but go off and start charging battery after about ten minutes. Then it just stayed on constant until I turned it off and would not start, guessing battery is drained. Am going to pull battery and alternator to take to be tested(both under warranty) and someone has mentioned replacing the cables on the battery which look fine. What can be causing the problem? Is there any thing that can be causing damage to the alternator or am I just getting bad alternators? They have been a rebuilt Duralast brand from Autozone. Please help.
You have a voltage drop.fine the damaged wire going fro mthe positive terminal of your battery to your alternator.fix this or it will keep working the alternator and draining your battery.
