Question about 2000 Ford Focus
Stared one day. failed to start the next day.
all lights on, engine not turning over. my fault i lost manual to check the 'fuel cut off'? system. could it be that? if not appreciate suggestions before i call garage to the house. in my youth could fix petrol engines and i have a few tools. thanks fiona moore
The fuel cut off would not trip on it's own unless the car was hit by someone overnight hard enough to trip it, the switch works by inertia of impact, the purpose is to shut the engine down in a crash, the next step here is to get some starting fluid from a local parts store and spray it in the intake, if it starts u have lost fuel pressure and most likely the fuel pump is defective inside the gas tank.
