Most cars take 4 or 5 quarts of oil and a filter. I use Fram filters and Castrol Oil. check with the guys at the counter of the auto parts store. they can look up what filter is availible and how much oil it needs and which grade to use (summer or winter) also how many miles you can go between oil changes. usually 3000 to 5000 miles.

How do I change oil pan gasget

Jack up truck for safety sake put jack stands under frame . remove all engine oil remove all bolts holding oil pan on if their is not enough room to drop pan you may have to remove bolts holding motor mounts and jack up engine. if front end linkage is still in the way remove linkage. pull oil pan out. check gasket that was between block and oil pan if any stuck to block of engine remove with gasket scraper or wire brush or wire wheel on drill.make sure mating surface is clean put new gasket on new oil pan I like to use a high temp sealer on gasket both sides. Put pan with gasket back in place of old oil pan and tighten all bolts. jack engine down ,replace moter mount bolts replace any linkage you took apart. and dont forget to replace engine oil. make sure oil plug is in pan before pouring oil in . before starting engine check that no oil is leaking than start engine and check for any leaks again if all is good your done. if this was helpful please leave good feed back. A good temp fix on a rusted oil pan is JB weld make sure no oil is on pan clean with towel and rubbing alchol .you may have to drain oil first. if it is rusted badly you may have to use a wire brush on a drill to clean the area to patch. if patched properly it may last for years.

Please check your engine oil level. The oil can MIL means there s not enough oil in the engine. Be sure to put oil in there n guage afterwards to protect your car s engine. I hope u do your regular service when due. Also check for engine oil leaks and check the oil filter too to be sure its not bad or leaking from there.

My chevy monte carlo year 2003 the engine just recently started knocking..we put oil in but its still having the problem can you please give input

Before you put the oil in, did you check the dipstick to see how much oil was in the engine? What did it show? If there was no oil showing on the dipstick, you may have driven it without oil. If so, the engine may be permanently damaged from lack of lubrication.

What type of oil should i use in my 93 ford 150 5.8

At this age, you can do two options, as far as most people would say: I'd probably put Valvoline high-milage oil in it, but this engine was designed not as much for Synthetics as some modern engines. Don't get me wrong: Synthetics would help it, but synthetics are not required for good performance. Just please, please don't put Pennzoil or "Thirteen Dollar/5 quarts" oil in it. Valvoline and the like, middle cost oils will keep it running for a long time without pouring nasty gunk around the engine.

My gauge ligth is on and my oil and engine ligth on? why thats happening maybe my mechanic put the wrong oil???

The "wrong oil" wouldn't do that - not immediately, anyway. More probable is they may have forgotten to fill the engine with oil when they changed it last. Have you checked the dipstick to see if the oil level is correct? If you do not see oil on the dipstick, do NOT run the engine! Have it towed to a different mechanic, and have it inspected to see if there is any permanent engine damage. You may have cause for a claim against your mechanic.

How to change motor oil on suzuki swift 1994 thanks

at the bottom of the engine you will see the oil sump its like a tub with a screw that looks like a star you nedd some sort of bucket to catch the oil, make sure the engine is cool put the bucket underneath the sump then unscrew it make sure to catch the screw the oil will come out of the hole leave it for a while till oil is all out then locate oil filter unscrew this, this will want replacing with a new one. (get the new oil filter first then you will know witch one to take off from the engine) replace old for new , screw the screw back into the sump make sure you do this befors you put new oil in when it is in and new oil filter is on put new oil in to the mark on your dip stick and away you go.. hope this helps you. please put feed back on profile for me if this help you bye

Light on dash

I believe this is the oil pressure light and the helicopter is a picture of the motor. Please check you have sufficient oil in the engine.
1. If on - turn off the engine. wait for half an hour for it to cool.
2. Check the dipstick has the oil showing on it between the two scored marks, near the bottom of it.
3. if the oil shows near the tip at the end of the stick or below the scored line, please put oil in the engine before driving away.
4. Consult the user manual or an engineer on how to add new oil.

Oil pressure light comes on when I put the car in motion (at about 2000 rpms)

all turbo engines have a oil line to the turbo. If it is not getting oil the turbo will burn up and have to be replaced. Change your oil and filter to start with.
