The best think i have found to use on rusty parts is called PB Blaster, It comes in an areosal can that can be purchased at any local parts store such as Autozone or Advanced Auto Parts, Spray some on the rusty parts and let it soak for a little while and it should break free no problem.

I hope this helps, Good Luck, Allen

I don't think the filter is in the gas tank. The filter should be on the fuel supply line that runs from the fuel pump in the tank to the engine and should be on the inside of the driver side frame rail probably right behind the drivers door.

Remover the fuel pump from the gas tank of a 1989 toyota RV?

sorry what is the question? you want to know how to remove the fuel pump. depends where its located. if its in the gas tank you will have to remove the tank straps and remove the hoses and wires to get to the fuel pump. and pull the tank out from under the truck. and there is a lock ring on the top that holds the pump into the tank. that can be rusty and stuck. you should clean any dirt off the tank before opening the top and then spray maybe if its rusty to loosen it up. then I use a screw driver and hammer to tap on the lock ring to turn it. and be careful it ifs plastic it will break easy. most are metal. so make sure your turning it the right way. remove and replace and put back together. hope you don't have a lot of gas in the tank. if you can dump a lot of the fuel out before installing it back in. it will make things a lot easier when you lift it back in to place. then add gas.

How do you replace a fuel pump on a 2004 trailblazer

undo all the fuel lines and vacuum lines, electrical connectors to the fuel tank. undo the fuel filler tube at the tank. support the gas tank as it will be heavy depending on how gas is in it. undo the fuel tank straps and lower the tank. clean the area around the sending unit of dirt and remove the lock ring that holds the sending unit into the tank then you can remove the sending unit to replace the pump. follow the instructions that came with the new pump. don`t use a used pump and change the fuel filter.

Replace fuel pump

Best to do this in a well vented area because of the fire hazard, so that the gas fumes don't accumulate.
1) Disconnect battery negative cable.2) Jack up car and support on safety Jack stands3) Siphon gas out of tank4) Remove three rubber hoses on rear of tank. These are used for gas fill up; remove hose clamps and disconnect.5) Remove three hoses from front of tank; these hoses go from the fuel pump to the engine. You'll need special fuel line wrenches for this.6) Disconnect two connectors at the front of the tank.7) Remove two bolts that hold the exhaust pipe heat shield. You'll want to use penetrating oil on these; they will be corroded.8) Support tank with a floor jack. Remove the bolts which hold the tank in place. Pivot the tank on the exhaust, tilt and slide out.9) The gas hoses are taped to the tank. Remove the hoses. The fuel pump plate has about 12 screws around it. Remove the screws. Lift the plate out. The fuel pump is retained with one screw. Remove the screw. Filter is retained with a clip; remove it.10) Get your new fuel pump ($250), the rubber gasket for the fuel pump plate, and new filter ($5). Compare the pump with the old one; it must be the exact lenght. I had to go to two different auto parts stores before I got the right one.Installation is opposite of above. Good luck!Fuel pump is not too tough. First, get a Haynes or Chilton manual for reference (about $14).Best to do this outdoors, so that the gas fumes don't accumate. If I recall correctly:1) Disconnect battery2) Jack up car3) Siphon gas out of tank4) Remove three rubber hoses on rear of tank. These are used for gas fill up; remove hose clamps and disconnect.5) Remove three hoses from front of tank; these hoses go from the fuel pump to the engine. How do you drain the gas tanks on a 1989 Ford Econoline Club Wagon?

Not sure if you can get at it but..
Look at the tank where the fill hose comes in and see if
you can loosen the clamp and remove the filler tubeit would be easy to siphon from there.
I would also change the fuel filter.
The fan clutch,,if you grab it by a blade and spin it ,it shouldn't
go around more than a 1 turn or less. If it spins any more it is bad.
If you can't get at the filler neck, since it's fuel injected you could pump the fuel out at the filter connection.. Have to jump the relay tho.

I have a 1989 Bronco 2 and it is not getting the fuel right. I think it is the fuel pump. Does anyone think what else it would be. I already replaced the filter. How would I replace the fuel pump?

The fuel pump is in the tank. Drop the gas tank.

1. Support the gas tank with a jack or something
2. unbolt the gas tank straps
3. unscrew the rubber filler neck going to gas tank
4. Lower gas tank slowly and disconnect gas lines
5. Turn the retainer ring that holds the fuel pump in the tank and left out.
6. Drain gas into gas cans to make the gas tank easier to left
7. Replace fuel pump and reinstall gas tank.

Bouncing fuel gauge

make sure your ground from the sending unit in the tank is good. it is usally rusty a few years from being on the road. you will need to remove it. put a new end on it and reattach it if it is rusty. if it is not rusty you need a new sending unit in the gas tank.

on the bad gas part I would recommend to get some STP gas treatment with injector cleaner to put into the gas tank
try a salvage yard that has a 302 engine like yours and change the whole distributor because the shaft could be bad on that end
