This is what I thought also but when you enguage the brake far enough where it will kill the lights the dinger will start going off and won't stop. Gets really annoying after a mile when you are hunting!

You can gently and I mean gently engage the parking brake, no more than one click.

My 1999 Chevy S10 4.3L won't start in the cold with a brand new battery and alternator. This only happens in 10 degrees(F) or below. What could be the issue?

I forgot this one: check the contacts of all power cables. Cab;es in the start circuit. Eventually, by hand. When you can wiggle them around there will be a too high resistance on that connection.

I have a 2001 chevy 2500 4+4 how do you reset the service engine soon and the airbag light they both stay on thanks

If your airbag light is on then there is a problem with the system and you need to bring it to a shop to get it checked out. As for the service engine soon light, for chevys, that is the same as the check engine light, if you have a scanner to hook up to the port under your dash, if not you have to bring it in to the shop to get that checked out also,
hope this helps :)

Hunters will understand. I have a 2010 GMC 2500 diesel. While hunting in the early morning I want to be able to drive without the head lights and tail lights. Can they be turned off. Possibly by...

You can't fool the switch. You will have to put an inline switch (toggle type or the like) on the circuits you wish to turn off. I used to do this on all of my cars years ago because I raced on the public roads and sometimes needed to hide from the good guys.

your transmission has possibly been rebuilt with stronger springs put in. No worries. have been running mine for along while without any problems. Better this than slipping, but it is a bit annoying.

Abs problem on 2001 4 wheel drive 1/2 ton chevrolet silverado pickup

I have this same problem with my 2001 Chevy Silverado 2500HD. I found a recall on a website that said there were 1,353,718 other trucks with this same problem (no, that's not a typo). Do not ask the people at Chevy to uphold to this recall because I was turned down when I informed them about the problem. Anyway, the explanation for the problem is the wheel speed sensor mounting surface has rust and corrosion (especially in areas who have roads that get salted a lot) on it that moves the actual wheel speed sensor away, creating the thought of an icy condition. If you or a mechanic has the area cleaned, the sensor will go back to its original position, thus fixing the problem.
