Question about 2004 Kia Sedona
The temp sensor is sending the wrong information to the engine control module. It could just be a loose connection where it plugs into the wire harness or it might be a faulty temp sensor.

Check fluid levels, make sure radiator cap is on tight, checks hoses to assure all good. And keep in mind, although new thermostat, it could still be faulty. (not likely, but a thought).

yes, normal temps for a car is around 170 - 210 degrees give or take depending on car. i wouldnt worry about it, please rate my answer.
