Question about 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee
While driving the dash lights on my 2005 jeep grand cherokee (park, drive, neutral)all lit up at the same time then the car started to slow down while stepping on the gas pedal, now my check engine light is on, why?
I don't know why , but you can reset the check engine light by disconnecting the postive battery cable only and wait 10 - 15 minutes and then reconnect this will rest your light, if there is a real problem the light will come back on, otherwise it was just a minor emission problem and correct itself.

Since the check engine light is on, you can get more details on the problem. Some autoparts stores offer free error code reading from the computer's diagnostic port. Get the error codes and repost. The Jeep has all the computers talking together on a Can Bus. If one computer fails in a bad way, it can kill the communications between the other computers. So the dash board cannot talk to the automatic transmission computer etc.
