Each wheel has a sensor which monitors how fast the wheels are rotating on vehicles with anti lock brakes. if the light did not come on till after you changed a tire then Chances are you damaged a wire going to the sensor on the axle where you changed the tire. another possibility is that you might have damaged the sensor itself.

So please check the sensor first, then go for replacing it.

Ya might be but check for any loose contacts in the wiring or any wiring breakdown in between before going to that.

Ok I see your issue, first off is your steering wheel centered?
Also there are many sensors on this system.... are any of them throwing codes?

Let me know.

Know what???? your given a solid responce to your question. You never answered the question (is the system throwing codes???) You can keep trolling here for answers or you can get with the program and see what codes you are throwing. That is what will get this repaired instead of asking the same question over and over. Get the codes read, replace the sensors that have gone bad and stop trolling the Fixya website. Please Decline this reapair and move on. Stop trolling for the easy fix its not gonna happen.

I need to start my 2001 Mitsubishi Montero XLS. How can I disable the alarm so it will start.

You can't without a key Your car has a built in alarm and immobilizer which is powered from the car's ECM, its computer chip, and that talks to the chip in the lock, which talks to the chip in the key. It is all there in place to stop thieves doing EXACTLY what you want to do, boost the car with a couple of bits of wire or disable what it was designed to do.

2002 mitsubishi anti lock break light

your anti lock unit may be going out,you need to see a mechanic to have this checked. You should not drive this vehicle fast and rely on the brakes in extreme conditions. These units can be rebuilt saving you a good deal of money.Although the brake system needs to be checked fully by a mechanic.
