What is the recommended oil change mileage on a 1999 wrangler ? Bought it used, no manual. have been changing oil & filter every 4000 mi. Also have a horn problem, fuses good and does not appear to be a wiring problem. Any suggestions will be considered. Thanks. Jerry , Slidell, LA

It all depends on how you drive. I you drive all city then 4,000 miles is a good interval. If you drive 50/50 city highway then I would move to 5,000 miles. If you drive more highway than city then move up to 6,000 miles. Be sure and use the correct weight oil and a good quality filter such as Wix or Purolator. This is all based on you using conventional oil. If you use synthetic then add 2,000 miles to the change interval. The horn problem may be in the steering wheel. You would have to remove the air bag to get to it. I do not recommend you do this. Working on the SRS can be very hazardous. Leave that to a professional.

Oil and filter every 7500 miles unless you do heavy work or towing, then its at 5000 miles.usually 10w-30w Or 5w- if extremely cold.Try a test light in the horn wiring.Pull the wire off, earth it using the test light and push the horn to see if you have power there.Work from the horn back to the steering wheel.Hope this helps

Recommendation servicing for on toyota corolla CE model reaching 200,000 km mileage

Keep doing regular oil changes , fuel and air filters if they havn't been done for a while. Timing belt every 100,000 km.
Everything else only as needed . Brakes , shocks , exhaust , etc.

10 w 30, I do reccomend you use a name brand, Cheaper oil leaves a build up in the engine that can cause blockage to oil passages..

Should I have the oil in transmission changed?

I would not go by the oil change company recommendation.
It's much better to go by the car manufacturer's recommendation. Look in your owner's manual for the recommended time/mileage to change the transmission oil and filter.

Just got a1999 jeep wrangler sport with a 4.0l 6cyl and 124,000 miles, what is the best oil and oil filter to use. anthony

There are several different oils to use. I would run a high mileage oil if possible, the brand really doesn't make a difference, but on the oil fill cap it will recommend the proper weight such as 5-30 or 5-20 or 10-40, etc. Proper weight in a high mileage oil is best. Oil filters are about the same way. FRAM being probably the most popular and widely used.

Oil change frequency.I just bought this Jeep. I looked in the manual and it says every 3000-4000 miles. The gauge on the info center says next oil change due at 7300 miles. Leading me to believe that it...

The 3000-4000 mile oil chnage interval is for extreme driving as described in the user manual. If you are not driving in stop and go traffic, frequent engine shut off's and restarts or dusty conditions, short trips, you can adhere to the higher mileage interchange. Your vehicle should alert you when service is due.

NEED OIL CHANGE

I would use 20/50 SE synthetic motor oil or high mileage or if you have the money, Amsoil is also great. Also change your filter every time and keep your oil changed about 3000 miles or so. It is overkill to change the synthetic and oil filter frequently, but will very good for your motor.
