Problems with accelrating and decelerating and costing on 2009CRV

I have a 2009 Honda CRV. Just a week after I bought it brand new, I have been experiencing one intermitent problem after another. First alot of times when I let off the accelerator the car will slightly ****, almost as if it is downshifting every time I let off the accelerator. Also it almost feels like a thud when I let off the accelerator. Now the accelerator will occasionally accelerate very sluggishly, it seems to sputter under heavy acceleration. Also when I drive the car for the first time of the day it make a really strange whining sound when I first start accelerating, then goes away. Sometimes when braking I will also feel a slight ****, almost as though the car is jerking me then as well. Also the car has no coasting ability whatsoever. I constantly have to keep on the gas. Even going down hill. Also when I first accelerating I will hear a light thunk from underneath the car. I don't know what could be causing all of this. I haven't really mistreated the vehicle, though I'm not real gentl on my cars. The one thing I did right before I noticed all of this problems, was I was just messing around with my new car one day, and I turned the steering wheel back and forth about 15 times while it was stationary in drive gear. Could this have possibly damaged something? Did I make a catastrophic mistake!!! I take it to the dealer and they claim they don't notice anything? Someone please help!!!

Hello there, First I would like to mention that turning your wheel had absoulutly nothing to do with the problems you are experiencing don't beat your self up over it. To me it sure does sound like you have some thing going on. You might want to take it to a reptutable reapir shop that you can trust to get a second opinion, not pointing fingers but sometimes warranty work is not the favorite thing some dealerships like to do.

I think you do need to address this before something may happen because the noises and symptoms you are describing are not normal.

Good luck and I hope this helps. Allen

Can stationary lock to lock steering stretch or damage a cv joint or drive shaft. One person told me it could. Cause I tend to do this an awful lot when getting out of parellel parking spaces. Sometimes...

There is nothing to "stretch" in a CV joint. This is a sliding joint and no it can not be damaged by cycling the steering from lock to lock. The boots can be damaged by high speed rotations at either lock.

Your other symptoms are unrelated. I can not pinpoint the issue as I can not see the car. Your clang sound could be a simple as a loose heat shield on the exhaust.

Intermittent starting problems in 2009 CRV

Being a brand new vehicle with full warranty, take it back to the dealer and make them fix it. If there is more than one dealer for your vehicle you can go to go to a different shop than the one you have been going. They save money if they can get you to keep it out of the shop till it is out of warranty that's just business. Make them do the warranty repair.
