98 jeep wrangler rear diff dana 35

when you take the rear cover off of the differential housing you will see a whole bunch of small clutches between the spider gears and the ring gear housing, you will see that the axles go right through them. If it is not a limited slip it will not have these clutches

What kind of axles dose a 1995 jeep wrangler have or how do i find out

should be, Front Dana 30, Rear Dana 35 The Bill of Materials (B.O.M) number is stamped on the right or left hand tube of the driving axles and with the help of a Spicer catalog you should be able to get all the specs and part numbers for the axle. You can input BOM hereto find model.

2000 jeep wrangler are sythetic lubes used in axils and trans

Hello grega1967, your Jeep Wrangler came from the factory with gear oil in the axles and manual transmission, but the transfer case uses transmission fluid. It is a NP231 and your axles are Dana 30 in the front and Dana 35 in the rear. They should have a 4.10 gear ratio due to you having a 2.5 liter 4 cylinder.

I hope this helps,

REAR AXLE

There is a tag on the cover of the diff. It will say the type and axle ratio. If the diff. cover looks sort of like a stop sign, then it's a dana 44 rear. A oval shape(an oval on it's side) is a dana 35.

2003 Wrangler Tire buying dilemma.

1) If you want performance in the rain, you need an all season tire.
2) I had 31x10.5 on my Jeep.
3) The vibration could be a bad steering damper.
4) Dana rears are almost ablong shaped on the cover. The other is perfect round shape cover.
5) Tell your wife the Jeep is for her.

I have a 2003 jeep tj sport wrangler, with a six cylinder, 5 speed standard trans wondering what size diffs are in it

You most likely have a Dana 30 front and a Dana 35 rear, unless you have the towing pkg. which would be evident by rear disc brakes and a rear center section that is almost stop sign shaped. The gearing in your Jeep can be determined by the tags on the diff covers but it is most likely that you have 3.07 gears unles you have the towing pkg. in which case you would have 3.73
